Tis about authority, if you start answering every question properly, the kids take control and they know it.

I just don't understand why you'd actually choose to give them the wrong information when it costs nothing to give the right information! Would you do the same with say, India and Pakistan if you had Asian kids in your class? Of course not.

Good grief I never said I wouldn't answer their questions or point out Peru or Mexico on the globe. I'm not in the business of giving kids the wrong info! The majority of kids would not ' fully understand' the differences. Just as you clearly do not 'fully understand' primary education. Doesn't mean we don't give the correct information. Next summer I shall give a short speech about the similarities and differences of the Mayans and the Incas before I show the opening titles! Happy?

For example, when I spent a year volunteering in a class, I took over a science lesson to teach particles, I showed that video of that guy who does videos in space, who gets water, and shows it going around his hands, and then I said 'if he did the same with sand, what would happen' and they all answered correctly.

Issue is after that we went to watch him do his cover of Space Oddity, then we had a lesson on space instead.
