Well f*ck me if this matters at all anyway, everyone here thinks people shouldn't be denied services(or treated different) no matter what their religion/race/sexual thingy/etc is, right?

If not, say now, so i can ignore you :p

It seems my preferences are more common than I thought. (y)

so it's better to discriminate under the covers than up front?

I'm not making any moral judgements, just pointing out that its really easily for technology to fuck you up these days.

Having said that, do I see a situation where I'd discriminate if I ran a B&B or a pub or something? Of course I would. Someone rocks up and he stinks and is covered in shit; I'm going to politely say we're full (and if he turns out to be an eccentric billionaire, thems the breaks). I think you have to have the ability to say no to people, not because of what they are or their beliefs, but how you judge they might behave, which ultimately comes down to how much of the benefit of the doubt you're prepared to give people. But, because the law has to be seen to prohibit discrimination, the only get out clause is to give no reason at all. Is it a satisfactory state of affairs? No, not really, but I don't see a practical way around it, and if it turns out a hotel owner or the like is a systematic denier of a particular group, then that's the joy of the internet; TripAdvisor will soon find them out. Like I said, really easy for technology to fuck you up these days. One way or another.

Oh, I am totes with you on the judgement call. the -imo- problem is ultimately a moral thing. I really don't pretend have any kind of solution, and I certainly don't pretend to not judge or box people as less/much as any other human. I do somewhat object to your wording though, even though you point out things work both ways. The Dutch have a saying "Zoals de waard is, vertrouwt hij z'n gasten", or loosely translated "As the host is, [thus] he trusts his guests". I find myself projecting a fairly negative slant on to your usage of "fucking up". Maybe I'm a negative kind of guy, I dunno :(

The current policy of falling over ourselves to give rights protecting previously abhorrent sexual preferences is all well and good, but history repeats itself and when the backlash comes we'll be rounding them up.

No we won't, we are free of the shackles of religion at last and deep routed beliefs created by religion are being eroded.

If you hate gays so much I suggest you move to Syria.

I kind of agree with @DaGaffer, if you have a homophobic cunt owner, and his customers are all homophobic cunts (@Job) then stick them all in the same hotel, because if you're a decent person, you won't go to hotel where they're all homophobic cunts, and hopefully in return you'll go to a hotel where the staff aren't cunts and in return the other guests aren't cunts.

Cunt free.

Happy days.

Why? Whats obvious for us less learned people oh master.
If you can't see the obvious you're not trying hard enough.

For starters, what else gets produced upon burning hydrocarbon fuels other than carbon dioxide? And that's just for starters...

The co2 that you are using to produce it. Try again

I was going to enter into a debate with you. Rewrote this post a couple of times.

But faced with such glaring idiocy I just have to ask - if you use both your hands can you find your ass?

Get some basic knowledge of organic chemistry - or even use fucking google - if you want to continue debating shit you clearly haven't got a clue about.
I red the article and it said they would use green power and c02 converted to c0 to make the diesel. So whats to comprehend. Yes burning the diesel makes it. Which it might not be a green house gas but it might be. What ever they are recylcing the c02 in the atmosphere that will be made by the combustion engine to remake the fuel.

So again its used once its created. And so the c02 shouldnt increase. Now whats your point?

We cant make more of something than whats already here. So not more carbon than is already on the planet. So they take the c02 and use it. Removing it from the atmosphere. To be put back inagain. Rather than digging inert c02 in oil form etc and leaving it in the ground.

OK. Maybe it's your pain meds @Moriath - but you're missing very simple things that I'd expect an 8 year old to nail straight away.

I'll ask the question again. Please try to read it - I've made it easier by bolding the bits that are important:

For starters, what else gets produced upon burning hydrocarbon fuels other than carbon dioxide?

Here's a big fucking hint.

And, given a couple of seconds actual active thought a whole host of other issues come to mind. I'm not going to give you the answers to them tho - or discuss this further.

And if you think my tone is condescending - it's because I'm looking down on your monumental retardedness regarding this - and I'm having to use a telescope because my ivory tower is so high...

You are such a patronising cunt that i wish wij would come and ram his member right up your arse. Yes there are other chems involoved in combustion. But the fact that some can be minimised by the reuse isnt bad. Oh and if you make the bio deisel put of water c02 and solar power. Where do the rest of the chems that normal diesel buring makes come from?

You cant just invent elements and compounds if they dont exist. You dont know the make up of this new bio diesel. You are presuming that it is the same as fossil fuels. No one has given us a chemical break down yet. So you cant say that arsenic and particualtes and shit are in the developed one.

Anyway whats poisoning a few cyclists with my diesel car gonna hurt. Few less to consume the world to death. (Sarcasm incase you didnt know)

Ok, since I guess you failed GCSE Chemistry how about another tact.

Forget the (obvious) pollution issues - where are we going to get all the rest of our electricity from if we move all our renewable energy production over to production of hydrocarbon fuels?

Even if society decides that car use is much more important than running our houses and shit - would it not be better to use our renewable energy to cleanly run zero-emission transportation rather than continue our dependency on dirty fuel sources? That way you can have your car, drive it, and not have any of the pollution issues. And you can eat cake whilst you're driving and everything.

It is a terrible idea though. I mean seriously....diesel? What fucking use is that to anyone?

It's not hard to extrapolate that in the future burning hydrocarbon fuels will be a niche enterprise (at least as far as end-consumers go) - for example in areas that other electricity generation methods make no practical sense or are economically unachieveable.

In those cases, if it can be produced economically, it may make sense as a replacement fuel to cut down on overall CO2 emissions.

But diesel looks like it's going to be phased out as a day-to-day fuel for plebs like us.

No, I think they'll just re engineer the diesel to reduce particles...banning an entire technology so entrenched is unlikely, but older diesels will no doubt face a cash for scrapping program.
edit .oh it says that in the article you linked.
Boilers produce a lot of nox but there is little public information on this, Worcesters actually come with a seperate nox reduction chip which I always throw in the bin.

Most NOx actually comes from pine forests and other natural sources, there is also very little link between these and asthma. New Zealand has some of the cleanest air on the planet, but also one of the highest incidences of Asthma. I'd be looking more at inside air quality, reckoned to be much more of a factor, but sadly not yet understood.

Saying you're sh*t doesn't make it better, didn't work for last transformers movie, certainly doesn't for you.

Took you 4 posts to explain your view at all when asked, and even then it's "meh" level of reason.

Those zero emmision cars etc that just move the emmisions to the manufacturing process. Creating all the batteries etc that they need.

Oh and the emmsions for bio diesel are different to fossil diesel. Cause their makeup is different. So why shouldnt this new diesel be engineered to be better still. Answer is you dont know cause no one has given you the formula for it. Cant to chemistry on half facts.

@Moriath - it's a long chain hydrocarbon. Geddit?

No. You don't. Or you wouldn't still be spouting crap.
