Depends on the place, but yes, you do.
Clearly not - if you can be prosecuted for saying that.

So clubs shouldn't be allowed to refuse entrance to some people? Basically the same, really

"You can't come in here - you're black, or you're gay" - is clearly different from "you can't come in here, you're too drunk to stand".

As said, depends on the place. Country and in the US, state. Oregno inlcudes gays in the anti-discrimination law, but not all states do.

Oh look, you're on your period again with the facepalm spam. Nevermind then, not worth talking to you today :p

"You can't come in here - You're not wearing the right shoes/tie/trousers" etc. basically because they are black/gay/neo nazi

If you think people are only only refused entrance because of drunkness, you are very mistaken

It's clearly not the same as "you're gay" or "you're black" - and there are laws (in the UK at least) about clothing discrimination IIRC.

You're such a baby about a little bit of facepalming.

Why do you care so much? Are you keeping score or something?

Presumably they brought this upon themselves by pushing their anti gay agenda...but seriously, this is like the dictionary definition of thought crime.
The whole cocked together legislation is flawed from the ground up and simply has every outraged minority group tacked on to it every time.
I'd make them a cake...with my own special cream filling.

In finland there was a documentary that found somalians and people with russian names were refused entry to bars and clubs much more than locals

they even tested it with same guy using different ids

So the "you are too drunk /wrong shoes" may be simply an excuse to discriminate

Indiana gives the right to refuse based on religion or sexual orientation. But a lot of people are boycotting the state because of it.

I thought you could discriminate but so long as you tick certain boxes?

IE, B&Bs can get 'round it because they're private (not really a hotel?) and therefore you can deny who enters your home?

Nope b&b just as liable as hotels.

There was a cpurt case a year or so back that a couple got told they couldnt insist on seperste rooms for a gay couple in their establishment. On religious grounds.

Yeah but how would anyone prove otherwise? I am sure people get discriminated against all the time by genetic throwbacks, based on race or sexual orientation who use the excuse "we are full" "your shoes are all wrong" but only a complete moron would say "no its because you are a homo bro"

No there was a prosecution last year when some Christians refused to allow a gay couple to stay at their B&B because of their cult.

Its in coronation street too.

On another note did you see the story on the three year olds who personally had to sign..yes sign an agreement with the nursery to not, amongst the usual long pc list ,use transphobic language.
All kinds of back peddling...temporary head etc...sign of the times I guess.

You could also just say "we don't serve gays here" and when they get outraged etc, deny it and say "i told them we were full at the time", or "i told them to sober up and then come back".

It's easier to pin it on "outrage fishing" these days then trying to defend it.

Risky strategy when anything can be recorded easily.

And also ultimately dishonest.

Don't know why toht is trying to say "people have a right to do something as long as they lie about it" - that's not a right - that's lying to get away with it.

/stabs guy to death
/lies about it
/gets away with it
/therefore I must have a *right* to do it

I'd ban people if they watched that.

No. Seriously.

I was joking, though it is I think, the wife watches it and I saw it coming a mile off, called it and apparently ruined it!

Never said anything remotely like that and not at all defending prejudice aholes.

True, but it's doubtful they are at that moment. Not like those kind of people care about honesty etc.

Erm...

They still have a right to choose not to serve someone, that doesn't disappear even if you have to hide the reason.

I believe you even have the right to say "we don't serve gays here", but it's stupid(business wise) to say that.

Even if you get prosecuted, because you don't have the right - just the ability...

Well , call me old fashioned, but if I'm in a B&B I would be a bit uneasy hearing two guys on the next room banging each other up the ass.

To be fair - in my extensive use of BnB's I've never heard anyone having sex. But I can understand how it would make you uncontrollably want to rush in there and join in Job...

I'd feel awkward hearing anyone having sex to be honest, I wouldn't distinguish between heterosexual and homosexual tbh.

It's the way that people say 'I don't mind gays so long as they don't fuck infront of me'

Yep, because heterosexual couples love a good fuck on the underground, and you love watching them.
