Give it a little thought...only 30 million non Chinese speakers learning Chinese but 1.5 billion non English speakers learning English....it's a total wipeout.

There are so many languages in india that they have to speak English to understand each other. At one time, I ran a team of Indians where none of them could talk to each other in their mother tongue - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Gujarati. They'd be fucked if none of them could speak English.

Seems like everyone I meet in Japan wants to study English. Looking at getting a part time English teaching job at the moment. Most of the people in my Japanese school seem to be from either Taiwan or Sweden. I guess Japanese is useful for people from Taiwan or Korea or something since it's nearby. A guy asked my Swedish friend why there are so many Swedes here learning Japanese and he said it's just so they don't need subtitles when they watch anime lol.

Next time I try to study a foreign language I'm going to pick something nice and easy like Spanish.

Point is though you are far more likely as a filthy foreign type to meet someone who speaks English as either 1st or 2nd language than any other language. Unless you visit rural China or rural South America.

As always, depends on the acting. it cn go either way to be honest and that image is just "wrong" because it doesnt have the usual joker facepaint.
