Obviously too much of anything could be bad but so long as you eat a varied diet of everything a human needs, protein, carbs, fats and salts then you are fine. Just don't eat so much processed crap (mostly because its tastes like the box it comes in)

Peter Whoriskey is quickly becoming a bit of a darling for the homeopaths as he's a bit of irresponsible conspiracy nut and clearly has no training in science reporting (which is usually woefully inadequate anyway).

Of course there are dissenting voices in science @Job. It doesn't mean that a single piece of research, or a small body of evidence, trumps a large body of evidence.

There are humans who live on a thousand times less salt than us perfectly healthily - so, given this man's proclivities to err on the side of idiocy, I'll be discarding his opinion and letting unbiased expert groups give their assessment of the current scientific consensus and base my decisions on that, thankyouverymuch.

Yes. I understand it's a complex issue and that sometimes seemingly contrary advise simply reflects a better and growing evidence base.

Now and again they get it wrong. But it's better than simply ignoring it just for a simple life...
