It's a complicated emotion, I guess we collectively feel the instinct to protect children from harm and slamming them into a mountain at 400mph is kinda the ultimate breaking of that responsibilty, plus the idea that they died seperated from their parents in such a horrific way.

Yes, because they're innocents, and they haven't lived a life.
Meh.

Personally, I think they're equally important. A life is a life - swings and roundabouts for what you lose / gain with age...

I guess its some kind of paternalistic characteristic. You've made it clear you don't want kids, although I'm not sure about others on the forum.

On that subject though I had a dream last night that a aeroplane crashed into my old primary school and set a few streets of houses on fire although I remember that someone said the houses were already on fire..

Not so much that but it was one group of children from one school in one smallish town in Germany. It's going to rip the heart out of a community moreso than if it had been 150 randoms who didn't know each other on the flight.

Good point, didn't even think of it from that angle(well, didn't know for one). Whie i agree with Scouse that every life is equal(to a point, can of worms, etc), highlighting the kids in that instance is quite right. It's not, as said, removing the others from the tragic list, but a whole town of kids can do more harm to that town then the crash itself.

On that subject though I had a dream last night

I had a dream last night that I moved in to a old house. It was splendid and had many rooms with high ceilings. I found a cat there. It was evil. It tried to kill me and successfully drove me out of the house. I woke up in cold sweats and scared to move.

If I actually owned a cat, and it had jumped up on my bed at that time, I would have died of fright o0

Been looking at various photos of US presidents. One of Lyndon B. Johnson:

I had a dream "fight" with someone in a dark room. I woke up to find I had hold of the cat's back leg, with the cat incandescent with rage trying to get away from me.

At least it was on land. It didn't hit a city. And they have the black box. An individual child dying alone is worse than the whole family 'going' together I feel.

I agree.

Those 19 people were a big issue.

The other 2,170 obviously were not, I know people might be getting bored of me posting about Israel and Palestine but I'm sick to death of seeing these articles of passing off completely abhorrent actions as acceptable, its absolutely beyond me.

If were going to criticise Hamas of war crimes and allow Israel to bomb the Palestinians because of it, shy have we not invaded North Korea? Because although they're really bad at attacking people (like Hamas) they have the intent to cause atrocities (like Hamas) so therefore theres perfect justification to nuke them?

We need to do something about Israel, we should either be controlling the shit out of them since they're provoking the middle east and then saying lololol attack us and america and the UK will invade.

Or we cut them loose and tell them good luck.

Israel and Palestine are an anachronism. It's just one culture fired upon another and the new one has all the shiny weapons.

The story is incorrect. The toilet was blocked and overflowed causing a stench in the cabin. They turned around because of it, SOP. Unlike the Jet Airways aircraft recently which carried on despite the toilet flooding the rear of the aircraft.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/t...overflow-Jet-Airways-flight-Delhi-London.html

There is a standard issue with aircraft toilets in general that if the tanks are not properly pumped empty they can overflow or block. Ground staff who do that job are not paid well enough to care and it is actually a quite common occurrence. Usually Cabin Crew just block the offending toilet off before it gets too bad.

What I don't understand is why aircraft don't have a system that automatically forces the plane to gain altitude if it gets too close to the ground (that gets shut off during landing procedures) then unless there is a catastrophic failure or an explosion, or it runs out of fuel then there is no way for it to crash into the ground.

If a Ford Focus can park itself then I am fairly sure a system can be introduced to gain altitude on a plane.

Germanwings Pilot Was Locked Out of Cockpit Before Crash in France

'kin 'ell. Imagine the passengers seeing the pilot panicking and trying to bust his way back into the cockpit as the plane is descending way faster than it should. This story gets worse and worse.

Looking like the co-pilot intentionally locked the pilot out of the cockpit, so the door code did not work. This is an intentional feature in case terrorist try to force crew to tell them the code. If this guy was on a suicide mission it will cause massive issues in the industry, even more so if he was of a certain religious faith with a history of such actions.
