Not so much that but it was one group of children from one school in one smallish town in Germany. It's going to rip the heart out of a community moreso than if it had been 150 randoms who didn't know each other on the flight.I doubt anyone is diminishing their importance, but children in general would just be in a state of panic and confusion as they can't rationalise a situation at all(as much as anyone can at that stage) and as such the helplessness factor is higher, making the sympathy factor higher.
