I voted UKIP in the mickey mouse Euros for the single reason that the debate needs to happen. One way or another, broken Europe needs to be fixed. I actually want to stay in Europe, in principle but I also want Europe to be democratic, in its current form it isn't.

Because UKIP and other anti-euro parties in other Euro contries have done so well, the main parties are actually debating it rather than rolling along changing nothing.

Yes, yes a lot of bleating morons had a bit of a whine at the time but they fail to see the bigger picture.

The problem isn't that Palestine doesn't deserve to be recognized, few countries actually opposes that. The problem is that Palestine also includes the Gaza strip which is controlled by Hamas.

Nope, we (as the west) allowed the creation of a Israeli state to walk all over 'Palestine' since the fall of the Third Reich, and 'Palestine' has asked for our help for years, but we were just tunnel visioned in helping the Israelis rebuild their home which they hadn't lived at for generations, but saw the chance, and leaped on it, and just took advantage really.

Since we've ignored them for such a lengthy period of time, they've decided to start helping thierselves, and turning to terrorism instead, which in return Israel killed thousands of their civilians.

I think recognising them as a nation will mean that we'll be compelled to help them in future events, but at the same time, it could be seen as giving in to terrorism, but I don't believe so, it's just more that the Palestinian people will be aware that the West no longer supports Israel committing such atrocities, and can ask us to help them, democratically, and peacefully, rather than through force.

As much as people hate muslims and such, end of the day, they're still human, and all they want is to live peacefully on their land, in the safety that greater powers are keeping them in that safety.

I think you'll be surprised with the amount of people that are happy that there's 'white' people suppressing the Muslims in the middle east though.

On UKIP, I would never vote for them (too single issue, and Nationalists make me uncomfortable), despite my incredible dislike of the EU (not in the slightest democratic or accountable, think it's a bit ridiculous we have to stump up extra cash because France have fucked their economy up beyond repair), but I do find the constant sniping and attempts to discredit from Guardianistas and various other "right-on" sorts highly amusing. I'm guessing they're either worried they've got a point, or are just doing the usual leftist thing of trying to silence those who disagree with them (very democratic). Either way, it gets a little bit dull hearing UKIP this UKIP that from the Islington lot. Maybe more promotion of why the EU is a good idea (I'd love to hear this by the way - specifically what it gets us that being the EFTA wouldn't) I'd be more inclined to listen. Attack the idea, not the person who came up with it.

Probably a little jealousy that UKIP seem more relevant to UK Voters than their pet favourite party, the Green party in there too. Probably because everyone can see the Greens would be happy for us to live in mudhuts eating leaf mulch.

But it's completely not, to blanket accuse the vikings as being 'hostile' towards Israel, then condemning them for recognising a state, which Israel massacres thousands of their civilians of, then to make a joke of it, it's not a joke, it's meant as an insult.

No I found that pretty funny. But then I'm not entirely sure what Sweden thought they would achieve by recognising them?

It's about your borders and stuff innit, because as it stands, Israel can go into Gaza and the West Bank at will to arrest people/shoot people, and they can actively take their land.

Now Sweden, (and hopefully others) have formally recognised them, once Israel starts going in to arrest people, they'll say, hang on, let the Palestinian authorities deal with it.

Frankly, the UN/AL should step up and do more about it, they should be policing the borders, and not letting Israel do it, have a neutral body to deal with it.

The fact that Israel annexed more land of Gaza following the recent conflict, and it went relatively well, and no major opposition to it shows that Sweden is actually trying to do something about their behaivour, and kudos to them.

Imagine if the American-Irish suddenly moved back to Ireland and suddenly started taking over Liverpool.
