WAs it coming towards you, or on your side? Because one of those would kind of explain why your car was sideways in a breaking situation.
I would like to know if this is going to become a common problem round here. http://www.itv.com/news/tyne-tees/story/2014-09-29/seaham-woman-loses-finger-after-spider-bite/
Got my driver's license today. I am twenty six and a half years old. Yay me!
I got mine at 30 - Had never needed a car before then.
I had moved on to having a man walk in front of the car. As long as you didn't run him over you passed. All I had to do back then was back up the horse and cart and make sure I didn't leave any manure on the road. Easy to pass tbh
Living in a city and not having to travel for work out side said city means you rarely need a car.Actually haven't needed one yet, moved to Helsinki at 20 and the public transport is faster and cheaper so never got around to getting a lisence
Pah, youngsters.

I had a E 1986 ish I think. 1.1 escort popular. It only had a radio in it four forward gears. Used to thrash the bollocks off the engine doing 90 on the motorway. Was about three years old or so when I got it.I remember getting my first car a couple of years after I got my licence; I was 21 and it was a 1995 1.1 Fiesta. The rear demister didn't work properly, my sister had dinged it and the suspension was a bit dodgy, but I loved it.
My 1st car was a 3 door mk3 Escort 16 ghia, it was great. Wood trim on the door and dash, full fabric on the door cards. wrote it off jumping a red light half asleep at 7.00 in the morning, and hit 3 other cars
Looked like this, but 3 doors
This one was for sale recently with less then 50k on the clock, I was tempted to buy it

Sweet. Wouldn't like to be in one in an accident , look how skinny those A pillars are.
No airbags back then. We were real men driving fast with nothing between us and the steering wheel lolWhen I wrote it off, I stuffed the front end and all 3 engine mount broke away from the chassis, it was only the front drive shafts stopping it falling out the bottom of the engine bay
