It's also going under theTV, where it may be used in future to watch US Netflix, as it looks a lot easier with Chrome than pissing around on the router. Otherwise I woud be doing as you suggest.

Run into 2 issues already. Samsung can't be bothered to do any drivers for my laptop for Windows 8, and bootable USB creator thingy spent 30 minutes getting to 98% then died. It could have told me I had a duff USB stick when I formatted the damn thing. One trip to Tesco later to get a USB key and some blank DVD's just in case, we are trying again.

it does give instructions to download a program to make it work..not a driver..but it just doesnt make sense

XP doesn't recognise the device properly.
It needs to download additional software/ drivers in order for it to work properly.

Either get Win 7 or fuck about with software for XP. Either way you will be far better off getting Win 7 than XP.

I have XP on a nettop and it is less than useless. I would put Win 7 on it if I had to use it regularly.

I found making a bootable USB stick for windows install to be a cunt of a job and no mistake. I fucked about with what seemed like dozens of little apps until I found WiNToBootic, which worked like a charm first time.

My DVD drive blew up when I built my PC and I tried to do a USB install, took hours to get it to work properly.

It's going much faster with a new USB key, think the other one was fucked. I'm still expecting much pain ahead, especially with drivers. And in ak the waiting I seem to have convinced myself buying a new car is the wy forwards. Ah.

What the fuk is wrong with XP..Ive used plenty of desktops and laptops with WIN7 and none are faster than XP..its simple and reliable and intuitive to use unlike that horror story Win8..but is slowly losing out to compatability and is showing its age..but only because they have moved the goalposts

After 2 failures with the official MS tool I tried this and it worked first time, so cheers for that. Windows 8.1 seems ok so far as long as you don't go near the Start Menu, then it's just gash. Still, the desktop is plenty speedy, and it seems to have got rid of the lags I was having with Plex, and media loads much faster now.

You can see a good 10m (maybe less but the point stands) in front of him at the start of the video. Even if there was traffic (which looks unlikely but I guess it's possible), he was still being a dick to the bus. The bus may well have done something before the video started but how the cyclist expected to come out of this on top is beyond me.

I guess the cyclist never expected a bus driver to deliberately crash into him?

It could well be that there's a massive queue of traffic in front of him, even 20m in front, so if you're queuing you're queuing...

I'm not gonna cry over it tho. It's still a funny video. But very limited...

Lols. By riding like an idiot backing the bus up as much as possible and then actually stopping in the road in front of him, I'd say there's only one way it's going to end and that's "not in favour of the cyclist". What's the bus driver supposed to do? Just sit there and wait for the guy to sort his issues out?

I'd say there's a good chance there wasn't traffic (just conjecture) because the far lane looks to be free-flowing (as does the near lane at the start of the video but it's hard to tell with that car in the foreground) and as we all know, cyclists are notorious for patiently waiting in traffic and not weaving between queuing vehicles. :)

I reckon the cyclist was trying to get the bus driver back for something that happened earlier.

I don't disagree with much of that @caLLous - but yeah, the bus driver is supposed to stop rather than deliberately hit someone. If a car in front is stopped and being a dick then you stop - you don't crash into it. Same rule applies to cyclist.

But say you're right about the traffic (and I agree - I think you probably are tbh) It seems to me that a cyclist wouldn't be that much of a giant dick unless the bus driver had been a dick at some point before too: It's a fucking bus. What cyclist in their right mind would be such a giant cock as to even attempt to fuck with it unless the bus has *really* pissed you off?

Edit:
I reckon the cyclist was trying to get the bus driver back for something that happened earlier.

Yep.

Agreed.

In this case it was the cyclist fault the bus hit him at all as he too close knowing full well the bus was moving.

I think insurance companies would disagree. It's always the driver behind's fault if they hit someone. They're obviously not giving enough space.

If the bus driver wasn't being a dick he could have simply stopped, given the cyclist time to get bored and fuck off.

Alternatively, I'd have been happier to see the bus driver get out and have an argument with the cyclist - even punching him would have been better than hitting him with a bus.

There's no room or justification to be a dick if you're in a big metal vehicle. Ever.

Nor is there if you're on a small dick...err...small metal vehicle ;)

The bus driver should've stopped, certainly, but the crash happened due to a cyclist fault (as situation was what it was).

The bus driver should've stopped, certainly, and the crash happened because the bus driver didn't do what he should have - stop. Regardless of the cyclist being a dick, the fault lies with the bus driver - the person who crashed into the bike.

Fixed.

Rear-end accident fault always lies with the driver behind.

If that is the bus driver on his horn that might explain why the cyclist stood up like he was about to ride away then sat down and started creeping. He might not like being beeped at.

Unless you can prove faulty brake lights or crash for cash
or if someone pulls out in front of you, or if the car in front comes to a stop without braking, e.g. if they hit the car in front of them...
always is such a bad word to use for something like that. mostly or usually, yes, but not always.
