Radorm - Was gonna call him Orm first, means "snake" in swedish, sorta fitting for a mischevious little kobold. However, it was taken an hour after server opened. So took a norse name that was quite close to it.

Katla - The ewul dragon in a children's book. Also an old norse name.

Geire - An utterly unsymphatic guy in a book that I got forced to read when I was in school. For some strange reason he was the only character I liked in that book. Same goes here, old norse name.

Brynhild - This one was a BG char from the beginning. My little rule is serious names for chars going to 50, saving the wierd ones for the BG chars. Name taken from "Fäbojäntan", if you dont know, dont ask, you probably dont wanna hear the answer anyways :>
Her surname, Wendt, was added at 50. If you're from sweden, you probably know who Brynolf Wendt is :]

Falukropp - This one makes no sense at all. Absolutely no sense. And really, I dont know how to explain the meaning of it in english. Me and some friends used to call eachother "Falukropp" or "Krüdolf" years ago. It was just a name you could use on anyone, anytime. "Falukropp, get me a new beer please" would make the one closest to the refridgerator go get you another beer, without you having to ask a specific person to do it :>

Jojjo - Created that little valkyn, and it hit me that she looked SO much like Johanna, a friend of mine. Just add some fur and that hunchback posture, and Johanna would have been a valkyn. If I knew how hard she hits before I picked this name, I'd have picked another. Oh, and Jojjo is her nickname :]

I've got a necromancer called Mandos. Which is the name one of the Valar (demi-God type beings) from Tolkien. The Halls of Mandos was the place where the elves go when they are killed.

I thought it was a good name for a necro :D

Lol, nice one :)

I made up my name from when I was in a period of boredom of my Daoc carrier, and made a up a totally screwed race/class combination for the fun of it.

Later on it turned out to be just as effective as other races. Name however could not be changed..

Trine Aquavit

Trine, cos it's a Scandanavian name. I went on an exchange trip to Norway when I was 16 and one of the girls was called Trine-Lise, so I borrowed it from her.

Aquavit, cos it's the name of a Scandanavian schnapps-like liquor (also spelt Akvavit). Aquavit is also has the literal translation from latin of 'water of life', which was appropriate for a Healer.

Other names:

Midgard

Yodel Sicknote (Skald): Yodel (as in swiss singing style), Sick-note (as in note to get you off work and a badly sung musical note).

Arcati (Spirit Master) : Madame Arcati was a medium in Noel Coward's play Blithe Spirit

Rupert (Berserker) : Rupert the Bear is a popular old children's character

Shambles Darkstep (Shaman) : Shambles, cos I liked the word, Darkstep is the family name of the kobolds of Savage Conclave

Fawkes Forsaken (Runemaster) : Fawkes, after Guy Fawkes, a Catholic who tried to set fire to the English Houses of Parliament. His effigy is burnt on bonfires along with fireworks displays every November 5. Forsaken is the family name of the Norsemen of Savage Conclave. Fawkes Forsaken is also very nearly an anagram of For Fawkes Sake ;)

Consultant Orthopedist (Bonedancer) : An orthopedist is a doctor specialising in bones and joints.

Vandeir Graff (Thane) : From 'Van Der Graff' the name of a guy who invented a machine to generate static electricity: the Van Der Graff Generator.

Torben Aquavit (Healer) : Trine's little brother (another Nordic name)

Hibernia

Gunnera Manicata (Druid) : The latin name of the "Giant Rhubarb" (my favourite plant) is Gunnera Manicata. Gunnera is a Sylvan.

Karrie O'Kee (Bard) : If you can't work this one out...

Excalibur

Ormond Street (Cleric) : One of the most famous hospital's in England is Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. They names it after my Cleric ;)

Castratto Warble (Minstrel) : A castratto is a male singer who's voice has been kept unnaturally at a high pitch by, you guessed it, being castrated. Warble is a type of sound.

That's about it for me. Most of these toons are very low level - I tend to make up a toon when I've got a good name.

When myself and friend started chars we both wanted short names hence Tip & Aim (both been archers found it appropriate)
Aim became Aim High and i became Tip Tronic.
Tip Tronic for those who dont know is a gearbox system fitted to most performace cars and is an electronic way of changing gear, I found this appropriate with been in the motor trade myself:)

Couldn't get my usual name (Amanita) so went for three popular names for revenge:

Silk (David Eddings fame)
Polgara (More David Eddings)
Galadriel (If you don't know you've been living under a rock for the last two years)

Chose Aurian because she was a neat Magewoman from a series of books called The Artifacts of Power

Menolly - Anne McCaffery Harper
Catherine - my sister's name :p
Maya - More Artifacts of Power
Mellony - The most common mispelling of Menolly.
