Some feedback on this please. I've been staring at it for a while and I'm not sure what it is, but it's just not grabbing me (I've not uploaded this particular version to Flickr yet). I know the sky is a little flat (this is the ass end of nowhere on the Isle of Skye, so getting the perfect weather is sheer luck) due to the average Scottish summer.

My first thought (and it's 03:40 and I've been drinking since 19:00 so it might not be a great thought) is that I'm not sure what part of the image I'm supposed to be focusing on Big G. It's like too many parts are vying to be the main focal point.

I love seascapes and the movement in the water here is fab. However, the dominant feature is that peak and the foreground rocks lead the eye away from that and across to the right.

I think Fweddy hit the nail on the head with this one. There's no single focus point, your eye keeps gettting drawn to other things.

Running on fumes... Don't really know what I was going for in this. But I do know the car in the bottom left shouldn't be there. Might try again when it's gone.

The rest of the set is on my blog - LINK
I don't really look at many pictures of cars or read car magazines. I don't quite know what to look for when taking pictures of automobile vehicles but whatever.

I find car photography immensely soulless and dull tbh. Personal taste.

I'm going to Chester for the weekend now. The Lake District is only a couple hours away so I thought I might try and reach there since it's the closest I'm going to be for a while.
Anyone know of any decent photo opportunities that is accessible by car and doesn't require lots of walking around in the mud?

Well I didn't. Seems I had less time than I thought I would. I cannot be fucked pasting all my pictures here after putting them into blog format so you will have to make do with some links.

Mm. Okay. Since it's coming up to the end of the year, let's have a round-up of the favourite pictures we've taken this year.

This candid is probably my favourite this year.

I put the rest of my favourites here - Favourites

I only started taking pictures this year but I look forward to learning more next year!

My nephew on Christmas Day, totally untouched. How would you crop it?

I wouldn't crop it. I would leave it as it is but then I like my candid stuff.
P.S. There's a "post awesome pictures from other people" thread and there's a "post your RAW and edit" thread too :)

Not really into this; it's not level, the composition is a bit odd, the leaning lines are distracting and the HDR processing is sub-standard.
