I watched it on my phone - so that's not Henry Cavill?!

On, and for the record, Superman = Christopher Reeves.

James Gunn can eat my ass. He fired Cavill for that? lol, what a twat.

Seems to me that he just went LOL GODZILLA, LOL SUPERMAN LORES, RANDOM BULLSHIT GO!

Unrelated - Just watched Kraven, was one of those "Watch once" movies, doubt you'd ever want to watch it again, was canny pap overall.

I don't say it often but the comparisons speak for themselves

Robert Downey Jr is to Iron Man as Wesley Snipes is to Blade and Cavill is to Superman.

It's more like these one trip ponies do one thing - super hero films, they did well in the past and they can't reinvent so just do the same shit over and over again, they've always been predictable and dull as dishwater.

If they need to shoehorn it into a universe, then it's likely to be crap. Some of the early Marvel interrelated stuff was great, then they forced it.

Re-watching Se7en
Such a great piece of cinema. David Fincher's attention to detail is superb

Thing that puts me off about JS/The Rock/vin diesel etc is that they all have clauses in their contract that they cannot be seen to get hurt on screen... the most boring, vain shit ever.

Wife dragged me to see Better Man a couple of weeks ago, and am almost ashamed to admit it was really good! The monkey thing actually worked really well, some genuinely funny moments and some proper dark stuff when he's covering his mental health issues.

They also captured just what a shit hole Stoke is perfectly. Shame the accents aren't quite as accurate (me duck).

Just watched the trailer @Bodhi. Looks good. But frankly, wild horses couldn't drag my ass to watch a film about that particular fat dancer. ;)

Can't say I'd blame you for that, I was never his biggest fan when he was current, and fucking hated Take Twat - although as it turns out based on the film, so did he.

Warmed to him recently tho as I had golf lessons from his brother in law who'd tell stories about what he's like in a family setting, and is supposedly a really genuine bloke.

Worth a watch when it comes to streaming tho, I was suitable impressed.

Watched The Substance last night, I thought it was great.

Avoid if you don't like body horror. It gets nasty.

Saw that the other day. Looks like they're going to make all the same mistakes that they've been making over and over again.

It's barely even stylistically Star Trek any more. The trailer looks like a standard brainless action flick.

Edit: Quick google whilst avoiding work:

one of the lead actors said:
I’m terrified of how it’s going to be received, because it’s not the Trek people want.
Why didn't you make that then?

Deadpool vs Wolverine. Did spectacularly well despite not being a brilliant film because it gave the fans what they wanted: Yellow Spandex and film-resolution to geek comic arguments. Last season of Picard: Not shit, because they tried to do a bit of next gen.
