Kill Bill (Volume 1) in 4k. The 4k upscale is mid (It was filmed in 2k digital) but there are some improvements. The HDR on it though... That makes it so much better.

We're doing KB Vol 2 this week too, but from what I've heard it's significantly better grading. So that should be a fun, but long as fuck, watch.
I just wish they were better films. I still think Reservoir Dogs is his best film (very closely followed by Pulp Fiction). But after that he started to be increasingly self-indulgent - he wants to write cool dialogue rather than cool dialogue that serves the story and moves it along. Dialogue for dialogue's sake - and that's reflected in running times.

Hateful Eight could have been brilliant, but because of all the "look at me - aren't I clever!" baggage it just made me think "I'm looking, and you used to be clever, but now you're ruining your own films".


But still. They are fun and I'll be setting sail soon ;)

Waiting for Hateful Eight and Django Unchained to come out in native 4k - I want to buy the whole collection.
