Sooo...Dark Tower. I’ve never read the books. Is that it?
Film was pish. If they wanted to start a franchise it needed some meat on it's bones. As it is it was very very light.

Watched "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets". I really enjoyed it. But then I like most of Luc Besson's films

Felt a little bit like Star Wars mixed in with The Fifth Element.
Very good special effects.

Didn't know there was a sequel! I haven't watched the first. Should I?
My dad used to read me Paddington bear and Hugh Bonneville in this and Downton displays many of my dads mannerisms so these films are of personal significance. Others who have seen them seem to like them and I highly recommend watching the first one before P2

Atomic Blonde was shit. That is all.

I quite enjoyed it. The plot was pretty non-existent, but I enjoyed the action in a John Wick kind of way, and was nostalgic for the 1989 look and feel (needed more baggy jeans and Stone Roses t-shirts though).

I can never decide what to think about Charlize Theron though; there's something...off... about her that I can't quite put my finger on (cue jokes about putting fingers on Charlize Theron).

I always thought she was much older than she is, despite looking fairly young.

Kinda wrong thread, however.

Has anyone seen that Amazon are talking about doing a Lord of the Rings series?

Silly idea, no?

As long as it isn't what The Mist series is to the movie. Actually, making it about gender-equality-rapey-teenage...stuff.

Silly indeed, but not all trust is out the window for Amazon.

Appears to be some sort of dispute about what characters they can use so may not go anywhere

Saw a Russian movie on Amazon prime called I am Dragon (2015) - IMDb
It is a romance movie but the story is pretty interesting and it is beautifully made. The cinematography and sound reminded me a little bit of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

At first reaction was Oh come on grow up but watching the trailer I'm taking it all back.

Thanos looks a bit ill. Like he's woken up on a Sunday morning after an epic binge in Amsterdam...

I got a bit emotional watching this trailer.

Specifically during the “avengers theme” moments.

Not really sure why.

Maybe it’s because of the nearly 10 years of films all coming together in one final (2 part) send of for a bunch of characters that have grown on screen.

Strange.
