I don't like her.
Yeah. Or her Labour counterpart. They're both the closest things to nazi's in government IMO.

I actually think women in power have a much bigger propensity to be absolutely wicked.

Aye, it kind of appears the choice this election was Snooper's Charter vs Thought Police.
Kinda the same thing. You can't have one without the other.

So, Tories pass "Snooping" and Labour get in and pass "Policing". And it's always Tories or Labour - because of FPTP - and they won't be reforming in a way that takes power away from them any time soon.

And some people wonder why some people don't vote.

I look like a fanny whatever I type.
Fixed :)

Fair point, Women in politics are either confirmed neo-nazis or sex symbols.

Look at the Scandinavians, the misogynists.

I would laugh if she got hit by a bus. I would cheer if it reversed.

And I'd wank whilst watching.

That's fairly sad tbh.

This is as sad as having the loser of the big brother house as your desktop :p

I was only joking about having it as my desktop picture

But I might get it mounted above the fireplace.

Doom and gloom because a party representing only 36% of the voting public has pretty much carte blanche.

And it's not a England election ffs - it's the whole of the UK. Or do you not give two shits about the Union/Scotland?
The Tories got a bigger percentage of the vote this time than TB got in 2005 when Labour still wiped the floor with Howard. Bigger majority than DC now has. Funny old business.

Anyway, I was the UK's LibDem voter. Yes, it was me. Labour and the Tories are welcome to race each other to promise to ban as many things as is humanly possible.

I live in a conservative safe seat, and I voted Lib Dem. For once it was nice to feel like my vote actually meant something ... they got their deposit back!

One things for sure, any possible support/sympathy within the Labour Party for SNP will have gone for good. Sturgeon fucked them completely and utterly.

all the commentary before she opened her gob was about coalitions. That changed completely to talk of tactical voting to stop UKiP and SNP having any say in government. So personally I think she completely fucked them.

We can bang on about civil liberties all we like, but we all know deep in our hearts that the government need to have eyes in every corner more than ever in our history, we are under attack from cyber thieves/terrorists and mischief makers who have ever increasing access to more complicated ways of hiding their intention...the old cliches of security before freedom are wearing thin and we will have to accept out business will be open to scrutiny in a way undheard of before outside of the Stasi, it is a symptom of the nets basic function and will increase exponentially till we are practically a one mind, almost back to the days of small tribal units, where everyone knew everyone.
All we need to do is fight back and probably the best way is to be unintresting.

That's democracy for you. As said before, even if Scotland voted 100% for Labour it wasn't enough. Ed Miliband had pumped Labour full of aids long before Sturgeon opened her mouth.

Yeah regardless the tories would have got a majority. Its good for Britain because Scotland will have a real voice in the commons and good for England because labour have been fucked off, hopefully for a good few elections now.

What's people's opinions on PR vs FPTP?

UKIP got over double as many votes as the SNP, but UKIP got one seat, the SNP got 56 (as at 10:45am on the day). I'm reading a tirade of argument in both directions on social media.

The biggest thing that has come out of this election is peoples utter disbelief at FPTP, and the anger about it will override the shock results.
The young generation will not stand for such lunacy when faced with the perfect storm of the SNP getting 56 seats and the influence that provides with such a small voting base.
It is..without doubt an affront to democracy.

Well, being a complete noob about the system - guessing that people vote for a party then the party puts a mp in for your area.

It would work well under a federal system for sure, but right now, I doubt it.

Unless my logic is flawed it would also strengthen the power which London yields do to the population which would further upset Scotland?

The way it works in finland:
Regions are assigned a number of MPs dependent on population

for example Helsinki has 10% of population so gets 10% of MPs

You then vote for the candidate you prefer - this vote goes to the parties total pot

So when final vote is in the amount of MPs each party gets for the region depends on total voted their candidates got, so if party A Is assigned 3 MPs their top 3 candidates are electrd MPs but the votes for any of their other candidates is not wasted

This does mean you almost never have a majority government but it also means no one area is over represented
