Does the owner know her as a serial arsonist or something? Why exactly have you been doing her a favor by letting her stay in an apartment that it seems you have only the smallest of ties to?

Ah-ha! Things slowly become clear:

fettoken = psycho

If she's living there and paying the rent and you've no claim to the apartment then get your name off the lease ffs. It's fuck all to do with you. Stop torturing the poor girl for your own sick amusement:

Hi Nadja. How's everything going with the apartment? Hey i was actually thinking of getting rid of it soon as im moving and dont want anything sitting in my name, but of course i´ll let you find something stable before i end the contract with the company that rents them.

So, you're actually threatening a girl you broke up with some time ago with kicking her out of the apartment she's renting.

She answers: Eh... are you stupid in your skull?

Yes. And a bit nuts.

Hang on renting in Stockholm is more complicated than that. You queue for up to 10 years ( more in some cases) to get a first hand apartment. Once you have it you can then trade it for a different (so apartment swap). You are not supposed to move out of it although you can sub let it legally for up to a year after which you have to give it up and with that the right to trade with someone who also has a first hand contract. If that happens you have to rent via sublet and move every year whilst queuing again.....

As an expat in Stockholm it is hell trying to find somewhere to rent long term as even if you purchase an apartment you are forced to sell after two years if you do not occupy it.

Why as an expat wouldn't you occupy it though Yoni? Are you only there part of the year?

Yes. And a bit nuts.

I really haven't got the patience to explain this to you in a sentence fitting for such a person as yourself, so i wont.

So you're not paying the rent and don't own the property, im abit confused, why not just inform the person you have the lease with that you are no longer in residence and have not been for some time(might want to leave that part out though if you want a reference for another place to live).

You have no deposit(extremely rare) what have you got to lose ? This thread just got abit weird tbh as i am now scratching my head wondering what the point was as people were asking questions on the 1st page that you didn't answer directly about ownership/paying rent, this just strikes me as very very odd o_O

I paid the first few months of rents to help her get on her feets. I got the contract on the apartment because i had been in cue for about 26~ years. Actually we were meant to stay there together but it did not work out. Now i need to move soon but cant due to i have this contract on my hands and she lives there(can't have two at the same time). If i release the contract she will be kicked out by the company that owns the block(which i have been told to do). And i cant transfer it to her because you have had to been in line for it.

I have certainly tried to help her out the whole time but gotten nothing but a cold stare back until recently.

That is the moral dilemma i am struggling with personally.

er. 26 years? That must make you 40-50 years old

She looks 20 at tops.

Worrying.

But what is the situation?

Are you paying rent?
Do you own it?
Is she paying rent?
Are you stalking her?

Not anymore.
I own the contract, so basically i own the apartment until i release the contract.
For now, she is.
Stalking, really? No.

Then you need to move back so she's gone, if you don't I'm sure her presence will likely fuck up any future contract you have, especially if she figures out she can fuck you up by causing a problem, i.e. revealing that you're doing something you shouldn't be.

Put things back in proper order, move her out, move back in, move to new place, get on with your life.

See, edit.

But yeah, you must have some rather backwards laws in Sweden...unless the entire country wants to live in Stockholm.

Looks like there's some phreaky ass laws governing all this. You didn't help by not being clearer tho.

Looks like you've got no choice. Terminate the contract - there's no point feeling bad about something that's out of your hands.

He cant terminate the contract or he will have to queue again.

From what I have read fett you must ask her to leave so you can do the exchange, besides if the Kommun find out you could lose your place anyway.

Did she not queue herself, or is she not from Stockholm?

Raven people queue here in order to get a first hand rental contract from 16 onwards. Two of my staff c. 26 years old have been queuing for 10 years, they were not very fussy about where they were going to live here so only took 10 years.

Housing in Sweden is completely fucked up in my view but never the less it is what it is...

Sounds like he's basically doing the equivalent of subletting to her without telling the owner. She didn't queue; he's just letting her use the apartment.

Get rid.

Now that we've gotten rid of each other and not having the slightest contact, I kind of feel sorry for her as she have moved back to a shitty little town to live with her father.

Also, we saw each other on Max (sort of like McDonalds) the other day, and you could see she was doing her best not to have eye contact (yeah, so were i). But still there was something turning my stomach, making me feel uneasy. You guys ever get that when bumping into an ex?
