The new craglorn patch has made an aweful lot of fixes that have improved the game a lot

Shame about the memory leak though, makes it like playing through treacle after about 90 minutes. Also my gatherers have suddenly become myopic and need to stand about one inch from the item being looted. They certainly broke some stuff whilst fixing other things...

I payed for over two hours and didn't notice any slow down. Maybe there is but in something s complex I bet you couldn't code it with out. A leak or two. Daoc had many occasions of memory leaks afaik.

Really? I had a session last night and it was virtually unplayable after about 90 minutes. I understand your point about DAoC but that game was released over ten years ago, one would hope that programming practices and techniques had improved since then. The whine fest on the official forums certainly seemed very reminiscent of DAoC!

Sorry... That probably didn't make sense out of context.

That sentiment comes from team pvp games... People on the winning side will call "GG" at the end even if the game was terrible.

Happens a lot in WOT...

Game is a 15-0 Roflstomp and some wise ass on the winning side sarcastically calls "GG" As in. "Nice try, game over"

I'm still in two minds about it, got thoroughly fed up with WoW and quite a wait for CU - Is ESO still busy or is it starting to die now?

I gave it a go after launch, was a bit better than beta, but I still couldn't get on with it. I think my main problem with it is that it just doesn't know what game it wants to be. It's like someone just took random parts of a console game, action MMO and run-of-the-mill MMORPG and mixed up bits of each with no coherence. Really struggled to get into it, got to level 8 this time around, but just lost what little interest I had. It might be better when you're higher level, especially with weapon switching to alleviate the awful skill restrictions, but I just couldn't put up with it to get there and see. The skill slot issue really bugged me, as it's a very open skill system. you can end up with tons of different skills, but can only have 6 on your bar at a time...
In the end, just not the game for me I suppose.

From a PVE perspective, the best thing you could would be Watch Angry joe's review. He pretty much nails it.

From a pvp perspective... cyrodil is good. Three factions, the zone is huge, siege warfare is well implemented, it has all the ingredients...

But

The class and ability balancing is currently awful.
Controls in combat are clunky and often unresponsive.
There is often significant server latency, making it unplayable.
And based on recent changes, the meta favours numbers more than skill, a la GW2.

such disappoint, many sad, much bad.

I'm still really enjoying it, PVE is no worse than any mmo but also not really better. PVP is second only to DAOC. The fotm elite war bands are a bit annoying but i still manage to have plenty of small scale rvr each night.

I just started roving around the edges of the Zerg picking people off from range etc. I still like the pve tho and have a duo with my wife for that.

Took DAOC many years to something even close to balance in PvP. Yes certain classes are easy mode IWIN (DK mostly with talons and banner) but still finding it fun. LoE run a couple times a week in PvP, many people still leveling Vets and we are having fun. No more than 2 full groups and have had some great fights. Get zerged occasionally but that is par for the course in any mmo.

PvE wise most of the bugs seem fixed. Just leveling a sorc and DK and most of the issues I had on first run through the story and zones are all fixed. Craglorn is a good addition but the mini bosses seem too easy for me, nice vet xp though :)

I'm still enjoying it, the PvP is fun, a lot of people zerg, but that's to be expected in any open world pvp, still plenty of small scale action to be had. The PvP is also quite good, just got my second char to VR10+ and I'm still not bored of it

I have not had the problem but others in guild have. Couple started using a program called memclear or something like that - set to clear every 15-30 mins. Seems to work for them.

The really fun fights are around the edges of the big fights. Had some great fun with small man teams. My main NB is now VR 9 and a couple of alts at VR1 or close to 50. Fun game and I think it will keep my interest for a quite a while.

Mine are as follows:

Buffs - Srendarr
Dmg review to find best setup - Recount
UI - Foundry Tactical Combat, Wykkard's, MyXPView, Greyminds Quickbar
Group - Warlegend
Other - Skyshards, Research Assistant, Sous Chef, Outfitter

Would recommend Greyminds Quickbar, I mapped the keys F1-F8 so much easier to quickly select a pot or siege etc.

Game sure feels quite a bit more responsive now that they've finally moved the EU megaserver to Frankfurt.

Good day,

This is still quite enjoyable, although the pvp gets very repetitive. The pvp region just isnt large enough, or something. Just feels off. Also: queueing for 30 mins to have a 60 second window to enter pvp.... just no.

F2P or not, if the game is bad it will sink...and it was/is terrible.

yeah i didnt feel it was worth shelling out ~50 euros plus subs at launch, might give it a go if it goes cheap on a steam sale

Wasn't that bad. Was a bit generic but I had fun getting to max level. Only did vr2 or whatever it was after though. The Pvp didn't attract me though
