We matched their bid and they've withdrawn. SSN just said Everton had a medical lined up for him (and a jet to fly him to Liverpool) but he turned his phone off.
Standard Sissoko shithoussery.

I'm just happy to see the back of the workshy cunt, fingers crossed he flops though and gets found out for being an absolute fraud on a bigger stage. The fact he's been making kissy faces at Arsenal for the last 2 years, apparently supports Arsenal but has now went to Spurs makes it even better.

Well I'm not going to write him off before he's even kicked a ball for us. I suspect/hope that, if anybody has a chance of getting him to perform consistently at the level at which we know he can perform, it's Pochettino and his national team captain.

I'm not writing him off either, but I'm predicting a month or so of decent performances then he'll drop off. If he doesn't drop off it'll just reinforce every Newcastle fans opinion of how much of a lazy prick he is. Either way, not our problem anymore :D:D:D:D:D:D

And all it took to convince him to want away was to get relegated. Well worth it. :)

If it is true that he turned his phone off rather than speaking to Everton then that is a measure of the man. Lets all hope (except Cal) that he is another Adebuymore.

Yeah it's not very professional (some say he turned his phone off, some say he just didn't show up at the airport where Everton had a private jet waiting) but out of them and us he had a preference and as soon as the bid was matched that was it as far as he was concerned. It's no different to refusing to train or driving to QPR without your club's permission or any of the other dumb things players sometimes do when trying to dictate proceedings.

He's been chatting up Arsenal and Real Madrid for the last two years, he's wanted to leave for ages.

I'm surprised Arsenal didn't sign him actually, they love a pacey player with no end product.

Sounds like Gnabry got the 1 year treatment. Only had 12 months left said he would sign a new contract after the Interlul so got sold. Wenger is getting pretty ruthless with the 12 month contracts.

I thought Gnabry was one of Germany's best players at the Olympics.

Yeah Wenger wanted to keep him by the sounds of it but he would not sign before the windows closed. So he was just looking to run his contract down and go for the free transfer. So Wenger sold him for £5-£8m with a buy back clause.

Sounds like a shit way to treat a team looking to take you back into the league, but i wasn't thrilled with the chance of bagging him anyway, didn't fill me with confidence that we'd end up throwing money down the drain.

Lot of "fans" seem pissed at Everton/Moshiri because we didn't spend big this window, i think barring a striker we did fairly well - Maybe paying a bit much for some of the players but confidence in Koeman seems much improved on last season to trust in the judgement

Really? I thought Everton did OK in this window. The certainly look a better sorted team already. Helps that you no longer have a manager who routinely turns a 1-0 lead into a 1-3 defeat...

So I've spent the better part of the last week in the company of a BBC World Service producer and he said that he has been told that there is a big rift between Wenger and the medical staff at Arsenal. They hate working with him because (last season this was) he doesn't listen to what they say about whether a player is ready to return or not and, when he brings them back too soon, they invariably get injured again.

It's tenuous but it's anti-Arsenal so there's that.

Unsurprisingly a performance as poor as our euros given the new manager has picked almost the saem team despite the awful showing in the summer.

The only one who looks like he can actually control a ball when it's passed to him is lalana

They were saying he picked the same team yesterday and that it is his ego at work. Trying to prove he is a better man manager and should have had the job for the Euros.

Well that 45 minutes doesn't help his case one bit! :)

I'm so happy we won, not because I like our national team, but because of the awful time wasting throughout the match from Slovakia.

Agreed, we were largely average throughout. I think its safe to say that Rooney definitely needs clear instructions to play.
