Looks like they didn't get the paperwork in on time for the De Gea transfer... Awkward.

Right, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has been on Sky Sports News HQ a few minutes ago and he sounds pretty sure a deal will not be done, here's what he said:

"The news is the documentation was not done on time. David de Gea was at his girlfriend’s house waiting, Keylor Navas was waiting, everything was signed and sent to Manchester but the stories coming out of the Spanish media are that Manchester United sent the paperwork back at 12.01pm Spanish time, so past the deadline.

"Everything was agreed, there was a little bit of a battle of figures, but everybody was waiting in their places. The Bernabeu was full of people, but the documents signed by Real Madrid and Keylor Navas did not come back from Manchester United on time.

"The Spanish media are fuming and saying this is revenge for what happened with Sergio Ramos (not going to Old Trafford).

"There is no precedent for a deal to be done past the deadline. Fabio Coentrao was in the same situation a few years ago when he was going to potentially move to Manchester United.

"The documents did not arrive in time, Real Madrid asked for five minutes and the league said no, so there is no precedent for this to be overruled. I know in England if everything is agreed you can have an extension but that has never happened in Spain and is not expected to happen."

News in the whole De Gea story:

When Florentino opened the documents from Manchester United it was supposedly just a picture of Ramos in a poorly photoshopped Utd shirt

Looks like the De Gea transfer is officially off; RM aren't going to try to appeal.

Lots of people saying RM were dragging their feet on purpose. Utd want to sell him RM want him for free next year. Drag the transfer out so he is not negotiating with anyone else and they save £22m

What a mess!

Good news for United I guess, if De Gea pulls his weight this season.

It's bad news for United, he will go for free (although I can't imagine that is how it actually works). I can see LVG spitting his dummy out and leaving him on the bench at best in the hope it devalues him and that RM lose interest. Although there is another transfer window at Xmas so it could all start up again, but I aren't sure if that is a Europe wide window?

I don't think LVG will do that. As for Xmas, De Gea can start renegotiating his personal terms in the Christmas window to go on a free in the summer. As for losing the transfer fee, if he's professional about things, he'll be worth it.

I don't know about that, I can see a "he's not in the right frame of mind" comment again. We will see won't we? They need him and they need him at his best if they have any chance of winning the league this season IMHO.

I imagine De Gea will do everything he can to play so he retains his place in the national side but who knows.

Anyway, "Arsenal are the ONLY club in Europe’s top five leagues not to sign an outfield player this window."

....yet

Has anyone bought Charlie Austin yet? So much a better buy than Berahino.

L'Oreal.

The Euros are coming up and he'll want to be No.1 choice for keeper. I'm sure he can cope with living behind a fridge ( © Edurne Garcia) for a few more months.

Just read a rumour that PSG has told Arsenal that they'd sell them Zlatan for the right price..

In b4 LVG buys him for £75 mil

The right price is £4 if it get him off their wage bill but fuck that from an Arsenal point of view £200k plus in take home? I do not see it myself.

You are in exactly the position the manager and chairman want. 4th spot and the knock out stages of the champions league.

The release of the annual finances will be interesting this time around. Last year Kronke took money out of the club. If we have done this just to sit still and the that fucker takes money out the supporters trust will kick off over the ticket prices.

And please don't get me wrong I have no delusion that we would win the league this year that looks like it is City all day. But if we don't even try that is pure bollocks. Liverpool have spent if they gel they could easily beat us to 4th.

And Levy has alienated another Chairman. Public bids designed to make the player request a transfer followed but a £5 + £18 over 6 year bid? They reject £20m and say they want it up front so he goes back with £23 over 6 years and lets it leak that it has been rejected, he is good for spurs but by all accounts a right cunny to deal with.

Err, 'scuse me? If anybody has made anything public over the course of the Berahino saga it's Peace. He has acted like a complete knob throughout.

Really? They've both been at it, but Levy was clearly told they wouldn't sell unless they had all the cash upfront. Since then Spurs have been leaking bids and talking about the player via your manager.

Peace just did the we won't sell stance, and that the bids that came in wouldn't encourage them too.

You've got your spurs blinkers on.

Who came out and said he is not for sale at all before Levi made 3 more bids that leaked causing the player to request a transfer. You have unsettled a player just to save a few million. You are the knobs in this scenario.

We haven't leaked anything that I know of apart from a statement today or yesterday. The bids were made (privately as far as I know) and it was WBA that publicly rejected them via statements on their website...

Come on, how many times has a chairman said a player isn't for sale only to then turn around and sell him at the death of the window. It's Transfer Window for Dummies stuff.

Levy is notoriously difficult to deal with, that isn't a secret. It seems like WBA were proving a point to me.

As for Arsenal buying no one @soze fucking good on them I say and I hope they do the best out of them all, which they won't but I hope so. Who were they meant to buy other than a forward who would of been silly money and no guarantee of being any better than who they have?

Levy is a cunt there's when it comes to buying and selling no 2 ways about it but he is pretty much the reason we're in such a good position financially. I was as surprised as anybody to read about him apologising to Marseille over the blocked Lamela loan.

Best part of the windows is Levy is going to lose another £5m on Adebayor that guy and Levi are made for each other :)

5% shots to shots on target ratio is just not good enough. Last season everyone knew we needed another striker. The Arsenal Board must have spunked their collective pants when Theo came back and scored a few goals as the pressure was off. At least buying Lacazette would have shown we were trying. Currently we are saying we hope we get less injuries than last year and that Chec can win us a few games.

Relax, Arsenal will be fine. Top 3 easy. They aren't even warmed up yet.

Worry when you support Leeds*
