At no point did he look where the other guys leg was he had his eyes on the ball all the time. In my opinion. Didn't see the other incident.

ofc it was deliberate (and he was looking directly at the leg/ankle, not the ball which was about 2 feet away)

It was a foul, straight red if the ref had seen it. end of.

Pretty funny that breakdanced his way out of a legitimate pen too :)

Still not entirely sure why the Costa thing is a 3 match ban, when Skrtel got away Scot free with elbowing him in the head in the first leg. Bit of consistency from the FA would be nice occasionally.

Still don't think it was deliberate either, he had long forgotten about Can and was only looking at the ball - Jamie Redknapp hung drew and quartered him for it (but then if I wore trousers that tight I would hang draw and quarter most things), yet Danny Mills on 5 Live didn't see it as intentional. Meh. We did the double over City with Torres up front last year, so we will see.

I didn't see the match but from those two clips alone it looks to me like the first one is very much deliberate, but the second one could be by accident. I couldn't care less what happens to Costa but it sucks for my fantasy team :/

Where would Spurs be without Eriksen?

No Idea mate, he's been a fucking gem. I always fancied him as a top player and he's now starting to show that kind of form. It helps that he's playing in his favored central role, and he's showing he has got an eye for the goal!

Glad they have but wish they would do more with it. An extended MOTD would be nice with extended highlights of all games, not just a couple then quickies.

So Pardew has signed Shola Ameobi for Palace, working his magic already...

Bet he plays him ahead of Gale and begins with his hoofball bullshit again.

Rumoured that Chelsea have agreed a deal for Cuadrado with Salah going the other way on loan for 6 months

How is cuadrado going to fit into a Chelsea midfield with Oscar/hazard/fabregas?

It'll be nice to rotate Willian with a player who could be equally energetic, Willian is one of the most underated players in the PL, his work rate and movement off the ball is fantastic.

I'd also like to see Oscar play deep when Fabregas needs a rest,

Oscar - Matic

Cuadrado - Willian - Hazard ooof work rate

Shame Schurrle left but he hasn't been remotely effective for a long time. Salah I couldn't give a shit about, never wanted him to begin with.

Cuadrado is a quality player by all accounts so should be a positive move imo. Wonder what will happen with our last spot in the squad.

I am not sure he is absolutely necessary, backup/future replacement for Ivan would be more important I would have thought, has been chugging a bit lately.

yeah he's a lazy cunt at getting back in defence, with him and cahill together our right side looks shit. Wish we'd use Azpi on the right more, he can cross better too

Maureen has cancelled the press conference too, toys well and truly out of the pram.

There really can't be any argument about the punishment. Maybe the pen, which was obvious but Costa somehow managed to make it look like a dive with his spinning about and carrying on.

This whole "everyone's out to get us" bollocks is getting tedious, the refereeing has been dreadful all season for all teams, not just against Chelsea, I am sure come the end of the season there will be plenty of examples of things going Chelsea's way.

Well there can be an argument, the two Garys and Paul Scholes all of the opinion that it's a bit harsh, especially considering the treatment Costa gets with opposition players trying to get him sent off.

I think it's bollocks personally considering what else was going on in the two legs (Skrtel elbowing Costa in the head in the first leg, Markovic clothes lining Luis, 2-3 Liverpool players who should really have gone for a second yellow card).

It is what it is though sadly. Still, we did the double over City last year with Torres up front, so we should do a job with Remy or Drogba.

There's actually being many points in the season where other players have committed offences and got off scott free. (as you said the officiating has been terrible)

Sanchez punching Ivanovic, Cahill kicking Kane in the back, Welbecks challenge on Cahill, Skrtel throwing elbows and continuously making terrible challenges and shirt pulling (Note I added Cahill actually committing an offence too)

But no bans have been handed out for that. It's not out to get us, it's just a bit BS that all of a sudden its a major problem for the FA when a major deciding game comes up.

Just think if the referee has not punished for it the FA shouldn't be allowed to get involved and effectively ruin a top team battle.
