Great result for Newcastle, I wonder if Pardew will get a contract extension from it.

This is the first time Alan Pardew has went on to win a game after being behind at half time as a Newcastle manager. Got to give him credit for once, very good substitutes at half time and to bring Haidara on to give Dummett extra cover against Lennon was clever, hats off to him.

Best man utd performance of the year, not that it would be that hard. Tough result on chelsea that because they probably just about deserved to take the win based on the keepers performance alone.

Seems the commentators on both Sky and BBC think we should of had a penalty and Ivan shouldn't of even got a foul against him on the first yellow he got.

After nine games, United have one point fewer than at this stage last term under David Moyes.

Biggest ever transfer splurge well spent?

seeen the fouls given but yellow was very harsh.
and yeah should have been a penalty, it went beyond the usual pulling that goes on and to be fair it completely prevented him getting to the ball 4yrds out which he easily would have done imo.

With that said, too much pulling goes unpunished in the box. Referees should give 10 penalties a game just to stamp it out!

It was half a job really, he should have spent money at the back but he did address issues in midfield. I think they will buy a couple at Christmas and ship the likes of Rafael out

On Brana, this says it all: https://vine.co/v/OhLFWtDJbH0

With that said, on the actual balance of play for the game I think a draw was the fair result. We were quite poor, Fabregas was marked out of the game and Willian didn't produce enough going forward. Hazard drifted in and out and should really have put away the chance when he went through, while Drogba was impressive given the limitations he has now and showed once more why he's a big game player. Overall though I thought it was criminal that Chelsea didn't put that defence under more pressure. Smalling and Rojo are clowns, Rafael was booked within 15mins (iirc? something like that) and Shaw is suspect defensively, but they looked comfortable all game.

Thought it was, of what I've watched, United's best game of the season. Fellaini and Blind played really well and RvP looked a lot better than he has. Felt Di Maria was disappointing though and Mata showed exactly why Mourinho sold him, he was a passenger for 75% of the game.

With all that said, Dowd's performance was bordering on criminal. If that was a Serie A game someone would have been stabbed in the arse. It got progressively worse throughout the game, culminating in an absurd red card.

Not really since the minor contact came before that clip actually starts.

Even if that's the case, I don't see how there's any way it's a second yellow.
