And Crespo turned out to be decent, what's your point?

The point was we were kinda talking about big money strikers coming to the premier league and flunking. Anelka was already tried and tested. Adrian Mutu for example was another big money striker who flopped.

If were talking about Pl to Pl then Keane to Liverpool, Carroll to Liverpool, Torres to Chelsea, Chris Sutton to Chelsea

Do you even Bebe Calaen?

:p

I was gonna throw Veron in tbh, but Chelsea saved most of our blushes ;) My only defence on Bebe is that he was bought as a potential and not as someone who was required to provide an immediate return :p I'm still waiting though ;) personally David Bellion was a worse signing!!

To be fair Mutu didn't really have a problem settling in, he was awesome when he first joined. Then he settled into an enormous pile of cocaine, and it all went a bit wrong.

Mutu was a good player, I think court ordered him to repay Chelsea too which is kind of harsh depending on how you look at it.

You are being silly Theo Walcott will be back from injury and he will be like a new signing!

Certainly a step in the right direction. A solid CB and you are nearly there.

I just hope Bendtner realises he is not worth his wages, takes a pay cut and actually gets some play time.

Unlike for him to realise anything, but here's to hoping

Don't forget Diaby. No new midfielders required.

Herrera spent the last season playing as a #10, more competition for that spot!

Kind of feel bad for Athletic, money is pretty useless to them, shame people keep stealing their players. Good to see Madrid/Barcelona rarely do it.

Well it's their choice to operate with a restrictive recruitment policy in am open market. They set a price, and it was matched. Should they be allowed to keep players against the players wishes?

I like the fact that Herrera actually paid to get out the contract himself when Bilboa refused the bid that matched the clause. Sure he knew he would get the money back from united but still was a gutsy move on his part that risked angering the people from his home area.
I'm just glad that we going in the right direction this summer, it amazing how much easier it is to get players when you have a manager that has a top class reputation at the highest level, this is what let united down last year and wasnt surprising, even though I dont like the fact Moyles wasnt given more time it was predictable he would have trouble getting the big names and thus wasnt surprising really.

And Shaw transfer confirmed now - 27m rising to 31m depending on success. Not too bad actually considering the English factor would have pushed the price up a fair bit/

I'm also liking the rumours that United are in for Arturo Vidal...

He will cost £45m+. Everyone seems to be linked with him but I think United will get him. Vidal and Sanchez would be phenomenal signings for anyone tbh!

I think Shaw is a good buy as well but you've surely paid too much for him?

Meh, its the domestic player premium. Par for the course, and he should have more long term value than say Baines, even though I rate him more as a player right now.

I guess MU fans should pray that the hope turns in to reality in the future otherwise that is a lot of money on an English player.

Maybe optimistic, but every player is a risk. Looks like the midfield warrior we are lacking, with a fair bit of skill thrown in. Not sure juve would sell though.

Why on earth would Vidal go to Utd?

One of the biggest clubs in the world? Be part of the getting them back to the top of the tree? Or he can sit in Italy, playing sub par teams week in week out.

Sanchez to Arsenal is picking up. I fully expect Wenger to release a statement saying we are not interested by Wednesday.
