Sagna to Man-City on a 3 year contract...bit of an odd one.

Arsenal are going to have to pay £20m+ for anyone as good as Sagna. Rejecting his wage demands doesn't make much sense unless they have someone far better lined up.

My man at the Emirates said Sagna was offered £150k a week as early as last summer but he told the club it was time to go and he was not interested in signing again.

Fair enough in that case. I really liked him as a player.

Apparently Arsenal have made £6m out of the Fabregas transfer. They also have the buy back option on Vela which is surely worth £20m+. They should spunk it all on Alves IMO.

The president of the other club has said we have already exercised the £3.2m buy back clause. Probably just to send him back on loan and sell him again next year.

Dunno what you're talking about. Expensive strikers *always* hit the ground running in the prem.

I'm really looking forward on how far England will go. But I don't think they will take it this year though. :)

haha to be fair they usually do unless it's for Chelsea ;) Torres and Saurez for Liverpool, Aguero for city, Van Nistelrooy for united (going back a bit but they haven't bought anyone in for a lot since then) Remy for Newcastle.
other then the huge list of Chelsea striker flops (but they don't count cos they would buy a puppy for £30m is it could dribble a bit) only Robinho could be labeled an expensive foriegn flop.

If you want cheap flops though, look no futher than nearly every player Liverpool signed under Houllier and Benitez.

Oh, good, I'm glad you didn't have Soldado on your list because that's who I was talking about. :)

Liverpool specialise in taking already proven strikers and breaking them.

(although have bucked that trend in the last 2 years)

Shevchenko and Torres were so appalling and on such high wages though, both crippled us for years imo

Torres has got another 2 years on his deal hasn't he?

If he goes, and Ashley Cole doesn't sign another deal, that's about £600k a week cleared on the wage bill with Cole/Lampard/Torres/Luiz gone, mental.

We can only hope and dream of Torres leaving :(

Costa and Fabregas will be on a lot, also sounds like with got Felipe Luis from Atletico all but done (at a ridiculous price for a 28yo fullback imo, even if he was one of the best in the world last season) Probably see better contracts for Hazard, Courtous and a few others too.

Don't forget Eto'o's wages too. We're loaded this summer, could spend 150m and pass FFP, not sure we need much else though.

If those 3 come in, I'd say we are pretty much set for 2 or more in every position like 04 to 06
