For those writing United off, our away record was third best in the league. If you think we'll be as bad at home next season you are crazy. We may not win anything next season, but we'll be challenging at least.

You probably won't but then your away form will dip, I suspect he will need time considering the gutting the team needs.

Edit timer. Spurs have some really good young English players coming through and Moyes has shown that he can bring out the best in them, loads came through Everton via him.

Derby has a very strong over all squad, I was thinking earlier when Derby went up last time, there was always the few amazing players but lacked heavily else where, and the only issue I can see with Derby this season is if we do go up, we'll just struggle - over all, and it could damage the squads moral, personally, I think it'd be better to demolish the league next year, and get some experience before going head to head with the big boys.

McLaren built good composistion with a squad that Clough built.

He would score goals if he was a good striker too. But then so would my nan and she has been dead 10 years.

He's on the reserve list. England don't exactly have much strength in depth with strikers so it be surprising if he wasn't.

You know what? I don't think its a bad squad (although the defence has individually worrisome aspects, especially the centre-backs). The biggest problem is lack of playing time together as a group. I also hope to God we never see Lampard and Gerrard on the pitch at the same time, but they both still have qualities on their own (and with Lampard in the squad at least there's someone who can take penalties). Of course if we try to play "English" football in places like Manaus, we're fucked anyway.
