That said, I agree.

2012 was a fucking pisspoor upgrade and I have no doubt 2013 will be nothing more then a database update.

Wazz, sort your shit out, SI haven't done fuck all different in the past two versions.. mainly because there is no fucking competition.

There's not much to update really though is there, new players stats and that's it. Short of adding, the ability for players to take a piss. The games are full of so much fucking guff nowadays.

The god awful AI would be one to start with. Ironing out the usual bugs and bringing in a sense of realism would be nice, the usual bugs such as 'super-keepers' should be gone.

I sincerely hope that another competitor comes in, as SI are getting lazy and it shows.

Bollocks. I remember games when Chelsea where down a goal and Jose ended up with 4-5 strikers on going for a goal. Mancini was a goal down and he put a defensive midfielder on. Joses own flair outweighs everything Mancini did.

Yep, Mourinho for those first two years was immense, went for it all out when he had to.

Villa have spent [insert utter bollocks]

The comparison only works if the teams start from the same position. You are comparing squads that have a head start with world class players signed in earlier years with a club that was favourite for relegation turning itself into a contender. But then sense and intelligence are oft missing from your posts.

Ok ok. Lets go back to 1992 then (20 years - a generation) http://transferleague.co.uk/league-tables/transfer-league-table-1992-to-today.html

The figures speak for themselves. Villa have utterly under-performed, not because they spent all that much less than UTD but because they are bad, they buy bad players, they hire bad managers...time and time again. You succeed at under achieving more than Lollerpool, quite an achievement!

blah blah blah better team to start off with blah blah blah.

You mean rather than buying lame donkeys, UTD bought talented youngsters cheap and developed a good training system and built a foundation. They didn't just snap up every has been they could find.

After 2011 I just haven't bother, nothing really changes and the UI just gets a bit more complex. For the money that game has made over the years it is a pretty poor affair, the profit just hasn't been re-invested and they are now rinse-repeating releases with minor changes.

I found 2012 to be the most disappointing yet, it was 2011 with more bugs and a worse AI.

Honestly, I want Fifa Manager to get it's act together, anything to give some competition to SI because it's pure laziness and it shows. The more shitty add-ons that just increase the season time annoys me aswell, in FM07 I could get through a season in a couple hours, FM12 it takes me a week with all the crap thats been added in, that has only aided in making the game a complicated mush.

Says something, but I haven't touched it in a while.. which is alot considering it's the game I've consistently played for years.

Haven't played FM in months, never did a career past 6 seasons this time around. It's getting stale.

We can't win, when we spend time polishing and bug fixing like people say we should do they moan we've done nothing :D When we put new things in people say it doesn't need more stuff and we should just polish it. :D

you should add real life scenarios, like John Terry has been caught simultaniously raping and selling drugs to a team mates horse and has been jailed for 6 months.... the horse in question is of course white as he wouldn't rape a black horse.

Oh dear, the classic clichéd claim of super keepers. They don't exist. You don't understand what's going on there, so don't make out like you do :D

The super keeper myth is one that was dispelled years ago on our forums by a huge number of our userbase. But meh, spout the same old crap about things you don't understand. One thing I've learnt from doing support on the forums is that there is just no pleasing people, especially the ones that just get angry and don't even do research before spouting off about non-existant issues.

Not sure that would pass legal tbh.

I understand realism and that such events do happen, I also understand that when the patchnotes dictate that 'keepers have been toned down that they were set far to high before :D, as such I used the 'super keeper' as a mere example. If I was to go off this years gaff it would be the numerous newgen bugs (e.g. not loading up German league means most youth get released when 9/10 they would have been kept at the club), a subject which I researched and posted about elsewhere (not a fan of the nazi mods on SI forums).

Enlighten me on what I don't understand then?

Judging by what you've posted, pretty much everything. But they're the obvious assumptions to make from the outside if you don't have any inside knowledge. It's much easier to simplify it to stuff like that. :D

First thing is you need to get the season playing time back down to something reasonable, it's been fucking awful for a while now and each season is a matter of days (even a week) when it used to be much much less only 5 years before as someone else said. Personally I won't be buying another release until the game starts heading in that direction and that is from someone who played every edition of the game since the first release in the very early 90's.

A common opinion held by longer term players of our game, particularly as they age. I'm on the same boat as you here. Our younger fan base still love the depth and don't care that it takes that long.

So internally (within SI) you know thus those who are on the outside will never understand.

IGN review got y'all lot bang on. Monopolized the market so can do as you please. :D.

Bah the depth is what cripples me. Got 35 days time on my Lanzarote save for 15 seasons.

It's bloody insane!

Monopolized the market? Last time I looked CM spent two years making a game that was one of the most horrific things to grace the football management world. And FIFA concerns itself with burger prices.

It's hardly out fault that everyone else doesn't have a clue what they're doing at the moment is it? The fact they don't would probably suggest to a sensible person that it's not as simple a task as people like you would make out?

When I have a 4.8ghz cpu capable of processing 8 threads at once and 16gb of high speed memory to work with it should not take a database so bloody long to process a few dozen game results. SI need to rework the entire engine, ditch some of the unimportant crap and get back to basics. Would be happy to keep spending my money with you every 12 months for what amounts to season updates but what kills me is that the game gets slower every year despite my new system having twice the horsepower of my previous 4 year old rig. It needs to be optimised, HEAVILY.

I can assure you that a lot of work goes into optimising and a lot of the slowness is not down to that aspect of the game. When you see the game processing a few fixtures, there's a hell of a lot more going on than that.

CM stopped being produced two years ago iirc? Your only other competition is the pisspoor Fifa Manager.. that to be screams that it's either FM or nothing. As i've stated because noone is seriously competing against you are able to get away with a simple update, and due to the lack of choice everyone will just end up with FM.

I'm not saying anything else other then it seems that each update is a flashy UI, a database update, a few new bugs.

However the loading times have improved significantly.. so kudos to that!

Not knowing anything about the behind the scenes part game myself but can't the scores and whatnot be processed, or partially processed while you are running a game? It would add another element to league games, especially at the end of a season when you might be reliant on other results. It doesn't bother me all that much tbh and certainly speeded up in recent releases, it used to take an absolute age.

I think I have said it before but i would love a game mode that lets you do the transfers and pick the team. But then you just click go you don't worry about 40 different types of tactic. An you do not need to worry about players copping the arsehole with you. Other than that the game is great.

Personally I think people would get bored of that extremely fast :p
