No chance. He'll get a better job than that. He says he wants to stay in England but i think PSG might come knocking and he wont turn that down.

Shit quality but you can see what he's doing. Should get a ban for that.

Since promotion to the PL in 2008, Stoke have scored 0.99 goals per game; the fewest of all teams in the top flight for 3+ seasons.

In the past 4 seasons, Stoke have averaged the lowest pass success rate (66.9%) of all teams to have been in the Premier League.

Since August 2008 Stoke City have taken 2435 long throws in the Premier League, at least 1363 more than any other team.

Of Stoke's 190 Premier League games since promotion in 2008, they have had >50% possession in only 13.

Stoke City were involved in seven of the 10 shortest Premier League games in 2012-13 based on ball-in-play time.

This season, the most frequently fouling team were Stoke with an average of 11.8 per match
If it works why change?

Makes him and others money it's up to the rest of the league to stop it working and make him change.

Blame them.

But they've spent loads of money and it hasn't really got them anywhere.

European football and an FA Cup final. More than a lot of clubs have managed. This isn't to defend Stoke's brand of boring shite football, but its not entirely accurate to say they've not gotten anywhere. If I was a Stoke supporter I'd have long since stopped going to matches though, there are much cheaper ways to cure insomnia.

Board have cited that reason he was sacked was because he wasn't improving the team, just continuing the status quo of avoid relegation. The board are right to demand more given the amount of money they gave Pulis. You don't expect to see him spending £5-10m on Championship quality cloggers and playing centre backs as full backs and even occasionally as wingers.

Apparently Peter Coates had a lot of time for Pulis but neither his son or his daughter (who are becoming more powerful in the running of the club) liked him or his style of management (if you can call what he did a style).

So, Mark Hughes to come in, spend a lot of money, fail miserably and get relegated?

I can see this plan backfiring as I think you'll need to spend a huge amount of money on that squad to make them a better team that can play any other way than Pulis' way. The bosses are right to gamble as they can't carry on like this for ever, but I think they'll go down next year.

Yep totally. Pulis fucked the future of the club by buying such utter dross. They're in desperate need of midfielders and attackers, and proper full backs.

2012/13 - Nani, Valencia, Young, Welbeck = 6 goals.
2012/13 - Terry, Ivanovic, David Luiz, Cahill = 27 goals

Also, your stats compare your defence/midfielder to our midfielders and one striker... why not show comparable stats, and also goals scored total...?

Villa have changed their ways though under Lerner. The fans may not like it, but they now have a young, cheap and effective side that could be really quite good if it isn't decimated.

Holding a team like that together is the key for a team like villa isn't it.

Benteke has been a revelation, they've pulled some great young players into the first time who've had a bit of a baptism of fire but now have some premier league experience. They need to keep them together and could make some good progress in the league, rather than letting the top5 vultures pick off all the best talent and to some degree waste it.

True enough, but they got very lucky this year. If they hadn't have found Benteke they'd have been relegated weeks ago.

"The word decimation is derived from Latin meaning "removal of a tenth"."

Don't think losing 2 or 3 players would be such a problem ;)
