true, but he could have got double the money for some of these players, Clichy for £7million seems pretty cheap

Clichy is average, and had 1 year left on his contract. £7m isn't a bad price for him. I like the way Wenger does business, it's just a shame that no one else in charge of a club with money feels the same.

Yup I agree with you Aoami. Wenger is one of a few who tries to do it all the right way. If only he'd spend big on an experienced centre half :p

yeah seems a bit stupid to not use friendlies as a test platform for it

consider the fallout if the technology they decide to use flops at the world cup or the tech is used badly and a wrong call is made... urgh

Let's hope it's more than just idle chatter and posturing.

If European clubs really did get together and tell FIFA to gtfo, it could actually change something; they're literally the only people who could (because even individual governments are simply circumvented by FIFA if they kick off). Thing is, they really need to do it now; the western European dominance of teams and players has maybe another 5-10 years tops before the best players around the world are dragged eastwards by new money and new leagues, and once that happens, there'll be no stopping FIFA corruption.

I'm so glad a German said all that, can't be written off as English bitterness.

The handling of the Bin Hamman thing so far has been ridiculous, I truly hope it goes to CAS, as then FIFA can't keep anything hidden away.

yeah the whole Bin Hamman thing is a bit absurd, they can on the one hand claim there was absolutely no dodgy dealing with the Qatar world cup bid, but then ban for life for corruption the guy running the "clean" bid...

I guess Blackburn might but I doubt the owners will hang on to a manager that long, they have not exactly shown themselves to be the patient type so far.

I'm stunned Steve Keane is still in the job to be honest.

Keans an absolute muppet, it reeks of his give me 5million pounds and I'll get Blackburn into the Champions league bollocks.

He keeps saying they have a goood budget, to improve yet they are linked with no real quality, Jermaine Jones who did ok for them last year on loan, is too expensive for them. He's already said the money from Dave Jones wasn't in a on of payment, and that it wouldn't all be used for transfers!!

Proper Muppet, Venkys must love having someone in charge who just keeps saying yes to them and himself!

Manchester City almost signed Aguero... going through medical atm and for 38 million or something... awesome striker...

I got a feeling Manchester City will be the team to beat soon... they are starting to get some awesome signings...

Will he lead the line as well as Tevez though? Remains to be seen, because Dzeko and Balotelli don't appear able to.

Dzeko is far too slow to be awesome in the permiership. Maybe if they started throwing balls into the box at every opportunity then he would score a few goals, as he is a big lad.

I think Mario had a brilliant season for his first one, 10 goals in 28 appearances, He's got all the attributes and more importantly a cracking sense of humour!!! :p
