As for Mario, I genuinely think he thought he was offside, just look at his body language, he stopped giving a shit two yards into the box, and after he back heeled it he just walked away.

Looks like N'Zogbia is on his way to Villa for £9.5m. I rate Downing, but to sell him for £20m and bring in N'Zog for less than £10m is a cracking bit of business. Do they need a direct replacement for Young with this signing? Perhaps not. N'Zogbia on the left, Albrighton down the right and Bent up front should be a fairly decent side. Should use the rest of the cash for a top centre mid and a couple of squad players to pad it out a bit.

Indeed. I don't think many people would take Downing in their team over N'Zogbia. With that said, Liverpool have been desperate for an out and out left winger for a long time - which Downing certainly is and N'Zogbia isn't so much - so it probably works out pretty well for both teams, even if Liverpool paid over the odds for Downing.

Should be about time that the transfer market went into overdrive now. Three weeks to go until the new season. Exciting times. BRING BACK FOOTBALL!

McLeish and Randy's right hand man have been quoted saying that we would only sign two players this window, Given and N'Zog presumably. The rest of the money goes back to Lerner so as to comply with the 'fair competition rules'.

They seem to think we'll be fighting it out for the Champions League/Europa Places despite flirting with relegation last season, selling our two best players and releasing a bunch of players after the end of the season; not to mention appointing the twice relegated McLeish.

Our squad is paper thin and we will need Albrighton and the rest of our youth team products to hit the ground running and perform 100% for the whole of the season. Not going to happen. Another relegation scrap lies ahead.

all of Arsenals players seem to be going rather cheap compared to the rest of the over inflated market, does Arsene not even rate his own players anymore? (or is it that no one else does either)

£4 million seems a bloody bargain for Eboue, he's a decent player who can cover a number of positions.

He is dogshit, overhyped by the London media and gooner fanboys. Good riddance to the dirty bastard. :p

Clearly you've missed the Carrick bumlove here then :D

Never understood any of that to be honest, overrated lazy geordie. If he really gave 100% effort all the time he would be a very handy player but he struggles to motivate himself for half the season and often goes missing against the big sides.

I think Arsene just thinks the transfer market is ridiculous hence why he doesnt pay stupid money for players (record signing still Wiltord for about £15m i think), and sells his players fairly (Henry to Barca for £16m the same year Bent went to spurs for £17m).
