If we base it on money tho then it would be RM and Chelsea. United at present moment are crippled by their owners making it so they have no cash to spend. People will say its not united debts but aslong as they own united its as good as being their debt.

Well, I was thinking more about the money they generate or their capacity to harvest huge incomes from marketing, merchandising, promotion etc...(even if they're struggling financially like ManU). Chelsea & City are more a case of being owned by rich ppl injecting their own money into the clubs.

And thats why imo ManU & RM are a bit above the rest.

You misunderstand the debt. You need to look at turnover and profit, this years was a one off hit. chelski have no where near the income generating power of Man utd or Real, they have a sugar daddy.

Take that with a pinch of salt.

Well if its lies, I fully expect Manchester United to issue a statement saying its bull. Somehow, I doubt that statement will come. Or do you mean the reasons are bull for him wanting to leave?

I smell a power play - Rooney is giving a massive blow to the Glazers with his statement and a lot of leverage to the red knight group and MUST.

It is pretty damning for the owners if their star player questions the buying policy and pulling power of the club enough to want to walk away.

Regarding this Rooney press release. Some people have said the following;

You have won tons of medals over the past few years, also last year we came 2nd in the Premier League.

True, but that was then, this is now.
Rooney said:
"I met with David Gill [United chief executive] last week and he did not give me any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad," Rooney confirms.

The players and board want Man Utd to win major tournaments, that's a no brainer and nothing has changed there. I 'think' Rooney is referring to the lack of talent that has been brought in? We were told the sale of Ronaldo (80 million) would be available to SAF, however was SAF forced to say that? I am starting to doubt he has access to this money.

I think he's worried about replacements for the ageing members of the squad, as are most. We don't have another Giggs or Scholes, some good youngsters yes, but not good enough yet.

We should have signed Ozil, Van der Vaart was a huge missed opportunity. Both of those would have come in at less than £25million combined - and MASSIVELY improved the squad.

It's a no brainer United need a whole new midfield but SAF refuses to spend money or he just doesn't have any to spend.

He has probably gone about it the wrong way surely he could have said i'll sign an extention but with a clause in it sayinh after 2 years if no improvement to the squad then im off.

Well he's off now for sure i'd be very suprised if he plays another game for them again.

Chelsea or City? If Real come knocking he might go there but i doubt it.
