would you really of missed him though, his performance this season suggests.....no.
He's an everton fan no?
hehe well i don't keep a list of who supports who now
Bloody amateur
Gray would clearly rather Torres play as he is no threat, than Ngog, who might score.
Thanks for stating the obvious =)
Are you really happy about this sale? Given all the shadows cast over it? It really does not seem like the board or RBS have acted in the clubs best interests, but their own.
They didn't accept the best bid, that much is certain. The hedge fund were prepared to inject quite a bit more cash as was the guy from Singapore. Liverpool are now owned by another bunch of yanks who buy clubs and turn them into franchises. Exactly the same plan Gillett and Hicks had but with finances that are even more vauge, remember G&H never hid those loan details but all the new yanks will say is that the debt won't be loaded onto the club, big deal. If they are borrowing to buy then the debt still exists somewhere, if not on LFC then on some form of parent or holding company and so LFC is still in jeopardy.
One thing is certain, Liverpool didn't get a sugar daddy with 100's of millions to invest and a new stadium is STILL far from guaranteed.
Why the fuck would you want a Hedge fund running your club, surely the only thing they want is to get some more money for their investors - hardly useful for player transfers to get a decent squad.
The way I see it NESV was the best investor Liverpool could get if they want to be a competitive football team:
Lim runs Manchester United themed bars (!!!) and seemed to think you can make money out of the football industry
Mill Financial are going to try and make money for their investors, they're a hedge fund after all
NESV run the Bosox, they didn't turn them into a Franchise - they already were one and good luck trying to move them out of Boston. They actually brought success to a team that hadn't won the World Series for eighty years, that makes Liverpools drought seem like a quick snooze! They will at least know how to run a sports team!
As for the stadium if you can upgrade Anfield then that's surely going to be a cheaper option (leaving more money to improve the squad) than finding some land to buy and building a stadium from scratch - remember it's the local council that want the new stadium more than anything so they have some jobs for the locals
I think its hilarious the scousers are celebrating NESV taking over the club. A consortium who dont have a pot to piss in and who are in it just to make a quick buck.
It will be deja vu in a year or two, I guarantee it
