The usual decent around midfield and no options up front. Mixed with the usual strange substitutions and squad selection. Ashley Cole and Ashley Young had a very good game but they can't win it alone.

They should ban Serbia from international football for about 10 years.

FIFA/UEFA need to stop pissing about with small gestures and start showing these muppets that acting like cocks will bring heavy penalties

Over-reliance on Cole and young, and they squandered a lot of passes and their final balls were poor. Same with Johnson, poor passes at the end.

I'd say our midfield were poor in the centre, Gerrard hung far too deep.

This was all apparent long before the end of the first half, yet nothing changed. Don't take anything away from the Montenagrens though, they played very well for 90 minutes.

Also I hate ITv commentators. Young with the most blatent of dives in the box, and yet they call his yellow card "outrageous".

What was outrageous was the handball that was not given, how did the lino not see it?

yeah ITV is absolutely horrendous. i'm pretty sure that if they could play the whole game with a union jack overlayed on the screen and god save the queen playing they would do it. also adrian chiles needs to find himself in a bad car crash.

as for the game, i think we were always going to struggle with so many creative players out but i think the team we put out there should have been able to do the job. the thing that really concerns me though is, where defoe and/or bent to be fit would they have started in front of the abysmal rooney? they certainly should have, but sadly i think capello's promise to "pick players who are in form" went out of the window about the second the words passed his lips. same goes for ferdinand, what is a player who has barely played a first team game for his club this calendar year doing in the starting line-up? not that the defence lost us the game or anything, but still.

england have a worryingly short list of options whenever any first team players get injured. at least adam johnson and ashley young looked good, i really think adam johnson is a true star of the future and i hope capello keeps playing him.

Denmark won a glorious 2-0 victory over the mighty nation that is Cyprus

And we actually played, at times, some semi-decent football.. What the fuck is up with that? :(

Those three were three of the best English players on the night. Yes they could have done better - but it does seem strange you pick on their performances and ignore Rooney's. He was abysmal.

11.04am: Judge rules that owners should pay RBS costs.

11.02am: Broughton wants a board meeting by 8pm today to sort out the sale and there is a dispute over whether the owners will be able to communicate via phone. The owners' QC is asking for the meeting to take place at ten o'clock tomorrow. Judge rules that it should be at 8 today.

xD

They have been refused the right to appeal.

I feel like doing a Zoidberg here :)

I'm not picking on them, the crosses and final balls were poor, that is a fact.

We needed a plan 2, and didn't have one. Davies should probably have come on earlier, one up front, another midfielder on, perhaps downing, and let Gerrard play off the front.

Terry and Jagielka both injured, not a lot of choice, but you've clearly not seen the last two games Ferdinand has played for United, he has been solid.

Rooney shouldn't have even been on the pitch, Crouch is fucking useless. We actually looked decent when Davies came on as we had someone who could hold up the HOOFS.

England are so much better than a 0-0 home draw vs Montenegro

The good thing from a liverpool fans POV is that the new owners would NEVER do a hicks & Gillete

We're really not.

Come on, I know I take the piss and that but the players should be beating montengro by at least 2-3 nil

Montenegro who have 5 clean sheets and are top of the group. They played their game perfectly and got a deserved point.

We should be beating them, but we've never been good against teams that set their stall up to defend. Or at least I do not remember a display in the last 10 years where we have. Yesterday needed Rooney and Gerrard both on top form to do something special to unlock a great defensive unit.

montenegro should be a walk in the park for such superstars such as england earning megabucks. But serial underachievers strike again.

Playing Montenegro at home should indeeed be a rather easy matter, at the very least a tough 1-0 win.

Switching to Liverpool's problems, Kuyt may be out for a few months with a busted ankle. He twisted it badly when landing after trying to head a ball in Holland's 4-1 win over Sweden.

From Hicks and Gillets lawyers:
"RBS has been complicit in this scheme with the director defendants. For example, in letters from RBS to potential investors obtained just within the past few days, RBS has informed investors that it will approve of a deal only if there is "no economic return to equity" for Messrs. Hicks and Gillett".

"In furtherance of this grand conspiracy, on information and belief, RBS has improperly used its influence as the club's creditor and as a worldwide banking leader to prevent any transaction that would permit Messrs. Hicks and Gillett to recover any of their initial investment in the club, much less share in the substantial appreciation in the value of Liverpool FC that their investments have created."

Pretty damning if true. Very shoddy that a bank bailed out with public funds is acting in this way. Don't give a shit for Hicks and Gillet, but this is incredibly immoral.

I for one would be happy to pay 10-20k to buy a stake in my club and i am sure that there are thousands, even tens of thousands of people who would happily do so.

Just 40,000 people doing that and you have 800,000,000 enough to buy the club and build a new staduim twice over.

The hedge fund is probably the best bid Tierk, they want to rebuild the stadium, are paying a fairer price for the club, and would invest £100million.
