Fulham had been in talks with Hughes to extend the two-year deal he signed in July.

However, the club admitted defeat in their attempts to prevent him walking away after he offered his resignation.

Hughes will serve a month's notice and be available to another club from the end of June.

Hmm, where is Mark Hughes now?

Villa are a fixture in the Premier League, average position is 5th and best finish was 2nd with a number of 4th place finishes. Fulham have only been in the Premier since 2001 and their best position is 7th.

Outside our ground we have a statue of our former Director who implemented the first football league in the world. Fulham have a statue of Michael Jackson, who went to a football match once.

Villa's ground is nearly twice as big as Fulham's.

Villa received an award from the English FA for providing the most players to the English football team since it was created. Check out the number of Villa players in the England squad in the next game.

There is no comparison between the two clubs frankly ^^
