What have they won recently? What have they come close to winning recently?

Not a lot.

You think that is the definition of Mickey Mouse? What about age, standing, supporter base, importance to the game?

Without Aston Villa there'd be no football league. We've had the most players play for England out of any club in the country. We're one of the oldest clubs in the world. We're the biggest club in the Midlands by a country mile and have won more honours than the majority of other clubs. In the Premier League era we're the 5th highest points scorer. We have also won the European Cup, when it is was more difficult to win it ... which London clubs have done that?

What have Man City ever won? Money does not equal being a big club, as any fan other than a Chelsea one will tell you.

Jose drew his first game as Real manager today away at Mallorca, nothing like giving the opposition a chance eh Marc? :D

I really dont think Real Madrid will win La Liga this year. Our team is just so much stronger. I know thats not the be all and end all, but I just think we will have too much for Real. Messi was unplayable against Racing and as long as he is on form, we should win La Liga again. Nice goal from Iniesta too lol

Yeah that was a pretty cheeky one from Iniesta :p Obviously the Madrid team will have to be rebuilt and learn to play together again so i think they're more at risk of dropping points for that reason than Barca who are probably going to be back to their pre-Zlatan best with Villa spearheading the front line.

Anyone recognise Walcott's celebration right at the end here? What a hero :D

Theo Walcott (Arsenal) v Blackburn

With just two decent teams in it La Liga seems rather boring to me...

Madrid didn't strengthen where they needed to with the quality required, they have a huge task to overhaul you again but I honestly think whoever wins this year comes down to El Classico anyway. The rest of the league just isn't that great.

^- This.

However, ppl make it sounds like if they might aswell hand the trophy to Barça already.

Points come and go with 37 matches remaining.

Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere arrested over "fracas" - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet

Such a shame to see a young talent getting in trouble. :( He needs to be avoiding that lifestyle of late night socialising.

Police confirmed to the BBC he was de arrested, he separated a fight and was a key witness. He was only arrested because he was there.

Wenger does not normally put up with thins kind of stuff though big Nick lost a weeks wages for having his picture taken drunk so Jack might get a bollocking.

Yeah please don't misunderstand, I wasn't having a pop at him for anything other than being out at that time with people who are drunk. He seems a pretty level headed lad and hopefuly he will learn that path is not one he needs to be following.

I think you are right Wenger will not care if he was a hero he was still out drinking at 3am not something I really want to see.

London and the South East is such a massive temptation for young players with loads of money, there is so much to do and so many places to go where you can live the playboy lifestyle. To me there always seem to be a higher percentage of young players from down there who never quite reach their peak because of the lifestyle temptations. It happens in the north of course but less so and it is less tolerated as well.

Jermaine Pennant springs to mind he threw away a lot because of his drinking. But when i heard it was Ledley Kings car he stole for a joyride i did think he should have got a 10 year deal right then :)

Looks to me like their building for the future a bit, most of the players they've bought recently are young but talented.

we're pretty fucked if we get an injury in defence now, which will blatantly definitely happen.

Bosingwa's due back after the international break according to physioroom, but i would be looking at giving Bruma a run out in the next game or two if it looks likely he'll be playing against City in a few weeks time.
