On last night performance against a decent team it makes me wonder why Rooney even has a place in the England squad at the moment, he has looked half arsed since before the world cup.

They certainly play football the right way, very impressed with them at the world cup, and they've carried on in the same vein.

Really sad to see twats on facebook using the game as a political stage. Saw a few idiots posting about how sad it is to see 20,000 Ghana fans at Wembley, as an example of why England is fucked. Far too many uneducated sad twats around.

Typical english mentaltiy though mate. They were only moaning because the Ghana supporters were out singing the English prawn sandwich brigade!

You do realise Rooney wasn't in the squad for last night's game yeah?

I'm sure Raven meant against Wales.

The England match last night was one of the most entertaining I've watched in ages tbh. Play the second string and they seemed to have some fire in them. Get rid of the old guard already tbfh.

Fair play to the Ghanians, they looked like they had a right party, wanted them to score just to see them go insane. Worth it. Brilliant stuff from Gyan also, but Lescott being left for a mug yet again.

Any English idiot who using it as some polictical point can fo. Did lol at the Ghana fans giving Welbeck shit haha.

Erm....yes? Which is why I said "On last night performance against a decent team it makes me wonder why Rooney even has a place in the England squad at the moment" Quite clearly meaning the team as a hole.

But don't let that stop you jumping in being a cock.

Really Raven? Your sentence read badly, it's ambiguous, that's why I posed that as a question. But don't let that stop you being a cock.

So last night?

Finally a case for flogging off the old guard of Gerrard/Lampard/Ferdinand/Terry etc?

Most definitely, though I am still not convinced by our back 4, little other choice though at the moment. Though it's only one game. I would hope he has the bottle to not upset some of the established by name rather than form players by not picking them for a few games.

Denmark will miss the qualification if we dont beat Portugal and norway at home, which I have a hard time seeing us do at this current form we are in..

yep will make a joke of Bendtner & co claiming they are too big names to play in U21-EM

personally would take a chance to play in any big tournament, especially if it was at home!

Hopefully. I don't mind a terry or Ferdinand, or a lampard or Gerrard being in the squad/team for experience. But we don't need all 4 of them. Wilsheres got to be a starter for me, and I really think the 4-3-3 or can really work with the players we now have at our disposal.

Ashley Young has pretty much nailed on the left wing spot, Adam Johnson is well on his way to being our right winger, he just needs to get a riddle on from man shitty.

Ferdinand should retire from internationals; I still think he's the best defender we have when fit, but he's simply not fit these days. Should retire and focus on club football.

Terry is fairly consistent for England, but does he really offer anything Jagielka isn't better at? No.

Gerrard and Lampard have turned up for England less and less over the years. It's quite clear they are usually too burnt out from club football to commit to England, great players, but probably too old to give what they used to.

The problem is though, Gerrard and Lampard are a class apart from the rest of our mid fielders.

Yet for England they are gash? Build a midfield around Wilshere is the best idea, follow the suit of the Germans and start building a young squad, no doubt most these players will be dropped however they should be given alot more time together. Hell even flog Rooney off, he's the epitome of useless anyways.

On another note. Cahill looked a rock at the back. Still slapping my head in disbelief as to why Villa ever let him go in favour of Curtis Davis?

I know you lot and everyone else hates Terry but he really is way better than any of our other defenders (Ferdinand doesn't count, he never plays)

He really isn't, so slow. Yes he is commited but he offers no more then Cahill/Jagielka other then he'll be nearing the retirement age by the time WC 2014 comes.

Terry is world class when he plays well, the problem he seems to do so in less and less games, he was dire in the world cup and hasn't been that great since. Drop him imo, like a lot of the regulars it would be the kick up the arse they need. For once we need a manager that has the balls to try something different. The usual faces haven't worked properly for years.

Players should be picked on form and form alone.

I've seen the same bollocks spouted from opposition fans for years, he's slow, he's inconsistent, he's rubbish but I watch him play twice a week and he's amongst our top 3 players almost every game. I guess people who rarely watch him and openly hate him know best though.

Big assumption there, I dislike the man, I rate the player. He's like Carragher, but can actually defend. However, he's no longer our best defensive option, he's certainly good to have around, but given his age I don't see him having a long term future with England - so why play him over others?

He was; I don't know if he still is.

I don't see him being able to give the same commitment to England over the next two years. He'll want to focus more on chelski, his body won't be able to cope as well. He'll slow down.

I've been hoping our players quit England for ages but they don't seem to want to, Terry least of all. Especially don't know why Cole sticks around to get booed at by his own countries fans :p

Hes slow and as he gets older its going to get worse no? Jarvis is our top 3 players every game, doesn't mean he should be an automatic choice if similiar options are there now does it? You see him from a fans PoV also, remember that.

No doubt he is for Chelsea and I don't disagree, he barely turns up for England though.

Where are these mythical England players who turn up? His last game he kept a cleansheet and his run forward made a penalty, not much more he can do.

We'd be ruined if Cole ever quit international duty. Best player we've had for ages now. No other English left back comes close (this is your chance Arsenal boys...)

Dawson has to first in line to replace Terry over Jagielka. Dawson has had a couple of great years for Spurs and now can add Champions League experience to his cv.
