Yep as bad as United's debt is they haven't had to borrow £100 million plus to pay wages, how Barcelona cannot balance the books is beyond me.

Dodgy presidents who take toxic debt because they know by the time it bites the club in the arse they will have left and it will be some other chumps problem?

Big problem with the whole sporting club model really isn't it?

Yep i would not want to see Arsenal run in that way. A few years of glory and high spend could see them in real trouble, and if it is true Spain are moving to a split TV deal like we have they will be in even more trouble. They are lucky they are not in the premiership as i understand there is no punishment from the Spanish FA for bankruptcy so they can do it as many times as they like.

Punishment for financial mismanagement should be a FIFA ruling that all FA's must enforce.

Forest away = Hooters.. win

Even when we had a decent away run we did that by drawing 0-0 all the time.

We're shite away and that's why I reckon we're mid-table all the way :(.

Ofc BD will blame it all on not being given all the money in the world to spend and the fans will blame it on the AP for not buying the premiership players that we should have as we're a 'big club'.

Forest is one of the bigger clubs down there however, and should have the financial whallop behind them to get up imho. But still, more hope that you do as Forest have a good following and there ground is a quality away trip.

To be fair, anyone whos known Blackpool over the years, that promotion and a swift relegation could be the best possible thing for them, pretty sure there ground has only just stop becoming one stand?

I think this is Karl Oyston plan tbh. He knows that now they have reached the premier they are guaranteed what, £90m over the next few seasons? They are now finishing the away stand, probably with the SKY money.

Exactly, best thing out tbh, don't spend now and just focus on making sure relegation isnt to embarassing for them. The money can be used to build themselves back in the CCC. Be nice to have an away stand rather then watching in from a car park haha.

As long as they aren't worse than Derby then it's all smiles for them.

If they end up being worse than Derby I'll have nothing left to smile about late at night when I'm on my own.

Kenwyne Jones having a medical at Stoke. I heard he's a bit wierd and will only play for the top ranked team who play in red & white stripes in the country.

Lee Hughes is a wa**er,
He plays for Albion,
His girlfriend is a prostitute,
Who comes from Birmingham,

She dances on the tables,
Her tits and arse on show,
And if you wanna sh*g her,
It's twenty pence a go.

what a gem

Im a bit dissapionted to be losing big Kenwyne, he's been a decent forward for us over the last few years but seemed to play better when he was up front all alone and also the season before his knee injury against England, the two seasons after he's not been the same player. Bruce has by his own admission struggled to get the best out of him but if Tony Pullis can then Stoke have got one hell of a striker on there hands.

Just hope we get someone decent to replace him.

burley got the best of out of him in the championship. for those few months, he made every defender in the championship look like they hadn't played football before. he was an absolute class apart.

oops

"1651: The speculation over whether Manchester United will beat Barcelona to the signature of German midfielder Mesut Ozil was sent into overdrive when United's official website accidentally published a profile of the Werder Bremen man in the club's first team section. "

Ashley Young in the shop window tonight then. £20, a piece of string and an old cork and he's yours ... just to get him off the wage bill :(

Well despite the Spanish press' best efforts he's never said he wants to play in Spain, he has expressed a lot of interest in us and Chelski though. So more chance of this being a sign than anything that's come out of Spain in the last few days.

edit:// 15:34 Time to thicken the Mesut Ozil plot. Danny Taylor, of the Guardian, Tweets: "Fergie stayed back after Fulham friendly and was with Bremen directors/entourage in boardroom." Interesting. < from manutd.com gossip column.

Funnily, the gossip column there also comments on the squad page for Ozil appearing on the website.

edit 2: It's already been explained in The Gossip blog that they have to do a profile on anyone in the transfer sections, " Second, a ManUtd.com biography of Ozil is in circulation. This is in no way a precursor to us signing the player - for technical reasons we have to give biogs to any player who exists in our Transfer Speculation section, as well as anybody who plays against us. Hence, you can find biogs for Robbie Fowler or Steve McManaman if you dig deep enough, but it doesn't mean they're on their way. "

I'd see him as a very long term signing, he is a perfect Scholes replacement. With him being able to learn off of Scholes and Giggs (and Carrick lol) for a couple of seasons before they hang up their boots, he could be immense. Here is to hoping Alex is seriously looking at him.

edit:// Sunderland signing: 2027: BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS:
Sunderland
sign Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha on a season-long loan.
