I think Ashley Cole was the only England player to come out of the world cup with any credibility, the rest all performed woefully, including Gerrard.

Totally agreed, Cole was the only one I would let off the hook completely and I hate the bloke so that isn't easy for me to say.

Gerrard was average at best. Still better than the other 21 dicks but that isn't saying much. Cole looked class even surrounded by a bunch of headless chickens, he actually impressed me more in those games than he did during the league season.
