Amazing result for Sunderland. Villa were great against United yesterday and could have been four or five goals up by the 80th minute. Then went to pieces with our shitty defence and Houllier messing up the tactics.

Downing should have been in the England squad and Agbonlahor shouldn't -- he's only played about 90 minutes of football since coming back from injury. Don't crock him Capello!

??? What ??? Liverpool have more money to spend than Man Utd at the moment and MAYBE even more than Chelsea.. :p

And I and many other Liverpool fans did not expect a top four finish this season :)

Err you know United have £100 million in cash reserves right? Fergie has been told he can spend at any time but his signings must either be exceptional value or under-25.

Getting what we deserve, yes we've got a lot of our core players out and have had for various parts of tis season but also in reality the replacements haven't stepped out to the plate.

You are having the same issues we had last season, the spine of the team is missing and the cover aren't concentrating properly.

3 losses and 1 draw > 7 draws.

Read what I said properly, I don't think the form will hold true and United will need to improve a good deal to push for the title. United's form is hardly sparkling either, I am not kidding myself otherwise but we have another 4 gears we can go through based on what I am seeing at the moment.

Do you mean under age 25 or under £25m? :p

It's not even concentration though, they're just not suitable for the roles we're missing. Ramires and Zhirkov are great, when surrounded by other first team players, but put those two in midfield and they will get bullied off the ball time and time again. Ramires was good today, but he's just not strong enough, needs to hit the weights and add some beef to his frame to play in this league.

Either way we need to get into form and get our injuries back pronto, our december schedule has Spurs, United and Arsenal in three consecutive games, which could realistically keep us top or leave us some distance adrift come January.

Concerning times in the last few games, Carlo's got work to do.

I like you Turamber so I will be gentle. ;) :p :D

First of all Downing should never wear an England shirt again, the guy has been a complete joke for England putting in 2 decent performances whilst 'stealing' 23 caps. Agbonlahor on the other hand should be in that squad every time, you are right about this being too soon for him though and if he had picked Rooney I would have been livid.

Now for yesterdays game, Villa were EXCELLENT at times but you don't always win games by having strong periods and you appraisal of the game differs from mine a little. Raw stats wise you hardly dominated the game, infact United had more chances on goal, I know stats can lie somewhat and in this case they do a little but Villa were not dominant for 80 minutes. There were long periods where it was pretty even. Should you have won? Probably on balance yes but I am exceptionally proud that United didn't give up on the game when going down 2-0 late in the day. For the first time in a while Fergie got his substitutions spot on, they injected some venom and pace into our attack and realistically we could have nicked the game in the end.

Villa fans should be proud they took the game to us, it isn't two points lost though even if you almost beat a side who will challenge for major honours all season, the game is 90 minutes plus stoppages and when your entire team pushes themselves for the full duration Villa don't need to fear anyone.

Having the smallest squad in the league is becoming a bit of a problem with all these injuries to first team players.

If we'd had last seasons squad we could have played Carvalho, Deco and Ballack today :(

Policy seems to be no one over aged 28 unless they are on free's or below £10 million, no star signings on big wages unless someone exceptional comes along at a bargain price. The big money is going to be reserved for sub-25 year olds who are already proven at the highest level and can offer United a decent return should they not settle or prove up to our standards.

Carva is the real loss, the guy can organise a defence and that is where you looked very short. Your midfield became very nervous when that defence started to crack under the pressure, with your strongest defence that midfield could have done a job for you.

The past is the past. Surely players should be picked on current form, not on their past performances. Downing is right up there with assists and goals scored, he's having his best season for a few years and really deserves an England spot.

Johnson is the media's flavour of the month but, even playing in a team in the top four, his stats are inferior to Downing.

Thing is, he hasn't really been missed because Alex has done great alongside JT, but as megadave says it's just the depth in our squad that is fucked right now.

Nah he is rotten bud, he just isn't a game changer especially at international level where he often looks lost. Johnson on the other hand is a great potential talent and will be truely world class if he ever gets his head together or is managed by a great manager. Mancini is a berk and will never get the best out of the lad, also City are a joke and the culture at that club kills potential. Anyone remember how good Micah Richards was 3 years ago? Now he boozes, spit roasts women with friends in nightclub toilets and happily puts his hand out for a wage every week.

As I said a few pages back, the form centre half this season. Toure is also recapturing his form of Arsenals unbeaten season.

You sure it's not the fact City have 8 players behind the ball at all times? ;) :p

intense milan derby. loved zlatan's flying knee on materazzi :D

Only bad thing about it was that it was against Materazzi and not Lucio :p
What a first half by Milan tho, Gattuso dominated :)

When he is playing well that little fella is on fire. Would have loved to see him play for us a couple of seasons ago, heard recently he has retirement in mind now though, shame at 32 he still has alot to offer.
