Carroll is young and can learn to fix up. Barton is a retard.

Liking the squad, can Capello finally deliver on his promises?

Damn it, i go away for two days and we get sunk by Stoke?

I hate changing manager in mid season as it is really unsettling on the players but a draw against Wigan and now a loss to Stoke?

TBH i am glad i wasn't in town to witness that crap i would probably ended up smashing my television.

:(

Barton should have been banned from football (top level) a long long time ago as he is just a thug. He always seems to be getting into trouble and just because he is a footballer shouldn't mean he should just get repeat chances. In the real world you punch someone in the face you go to jail......oh wait you don't if you are in the UK :(

Anyway he is not exactly what you would call a positive role model for youngsters.

hasnt he only picked this team based on his regulars being injured?

once their fit, it;ll just be same old shit.

Jon Mikel Obi's national team boss - Nigeria coach Samson Siasia - has told him to quit Chelsea claiming the club have destroyed the *midfielder's attacking instincts.
Full story: Sunday Mirror

ye he should leave that shit team, they're going nowhere xD haha.

All that I ask for is that he's not due up in court anytime soon. Such a great role model is Mr Carrol, almost as good as Barton.

Footballers stopped being role models the day wages started going over £10k a week.

Anyone who thinks thats a niche they should still fill is seriously deluded. Unfortunately, the English like to play the game of building them up as role models, just so they can knock them back down again to increase sales when they do something "news-worthy".

Issues about role models aside - I don't think Barton should represent England. The press are wankers as it is, they would have a field day with that. Also he's far too disruptive.

no, it looks like Capello is finally being brave enough to treat a friendly as it should - to try new things. The only problem is that English fans and the press are all fickle, we won't care about progress if we lose.

I think the injuries have played a big part in it, I dont think Bothroyd would have gotten into the squad if the likes of Rooney, Defoe or Bent were fit. Saying that I personally think that Kevin Davies deserved a second look and feel its a bit harsh on him to leave him out.

It depends how you look at it Aph3x, Davies has had a proper cap, give others a chance in a pointless game.

It kinda looks to me like Capello has taken his one look at him and decided he's not international class, why not give the guy another chance.

On the Barton thing his form has been very good this season but he just can not control the aggresive part of his personality, he's a liability and because of that should never play for England. Why Scott Parker has been overlooked is beyond me mind, he's been dragging West Ham through games almost single handedly.

Looks like old Roy is starting to crack under the strain, can't say I blame him but it was never going to be an easy job to take on. The Premier League is a much tougher proposition now than it was when Rafa took over, more competition at the top for a start and financially Liverpool just cannot compete with the other top sides. Fourth is going to be a real stretch for them unless the manager gets some money to spend in the transfer window, I don't see Roy being around that long though and I am suprised he made November but I guess the takeover relieved some pressure for a while. Nowhere to hide now though.

There are plenty of footballers who are role models.

Paul Scholes for a start. Good husband, good father, very personable guy off-camera and whilst not a saint on the pitch there is no malice in him. He lives a clean life and protects his family whilst living in the pressure cooker of top flight football, not always an easy thing to do when you are a multi-millionaire with so many temptations on offer and newspapers always hovering, just waiting to crucify you in public to sell a few extra copies.

Ahh shame, Andy Carrol has pulled out of the England squad due to a groin injury.

??? What ??? Liverpool have more money to spend than Man Utd at the moment and MAYBE even more than Chelsea.. :p

And I and many other Liverpool fans did not expect a top four finish this season :)

You aren't sure how much they have, yet Liverpool have more.... Yeah, good logic there.

Speaking to a Liverpool fan last night and he thinks things are pretty desperate at the moment, they have to make champions league football this season and Torres and Gerrard have to remain fit all season and be on top form to attract any new talent so that they can remain a top club. The rest of the squad is pretty much average. They have wasted so much money over the years on Carlos Kickabouts.

They don't really need to buy anyone though.

Liverpool on other hand need around 15 new players...40 mil doesn't go very far these days.
