Rly wanna watch the barca v inter match tonite but annoyingly on same nite as arsenal play
.
Each team would have lost about 50k from setanta going bust, money they would have probably been expecting. They'll gain about 15k each out of the 1m.

Actually no, as the money is not split evenly between the teams from the TV money. Only the blue square premier teams got any where near £50k, the north and south leagues got a lot less. This one off payment will help them until a new TV deal is struck - it's not money that has to been lent in lieu of a TV deal, it's money they would not have had anyway.
Jesus, people really are not grateful for charity these days. Grumpy fuckers.
lower league football is in dire need of investment, there are clubs going bust or just surviving left right and centre. a token payment of £1m from the premier league isn't enough to get anywhere solving all the problems. the problem is all the glory hunting fans don't care about lower league football and think the premiership is the be all and end all.

No it's not, but that is not the job of the premier league, and I think you will find that a lot of those clubs are thankful for the "token payment". It's the job of the FA to ensure money flows down the leagues to encourage development and survival of the game at all levels. If that £1million helps clubs survive until they get a new TV deal what is the problem with it?
edit:// Also I loved watching blue square on sultanta, would be great if it was back on TV. Maybe the beeb should get in there?
It's also not being shown live in the UK, would have to catch a stream :/
My team fleetwood, doesnt need it. We already have a multi millionaire owner![]()

I was watching them when they were in the north west counties, when we had crowds of one man and his dog![]()
I am a United fan but I have to completely agree there, most fans don't get a rats arse about the smaller clubs, it is a fucking tragedy. Personally I go watch Stockport when I can or when money is short I go watch Droylsden FC who are 2 miles away from me and currently top of the Blue Square North league! Conference here we come!![]()
