Heskey has been absolutely useless.

You want to try tuning your telly in. He missed two one-on-one's, one to a good save and one he could have done better with, but his general play has been excellent.

He has put in quality balls for the rest of the team and closed down the opposition. Some goals would be nice but that isn't why he's in the team.

You want to try turning your telly on. He's missed two simple chances that any other player would have buried, the first one straight at goalie, second one he couldnt control a very simple ball.

Having a big target man who's crap in the air and very average at everything else. We might as well just get Ameobi.

Really? How did Lennon do with his one on one? Was it even on target? How did Rooney did in the last game when clean through? And how many miles into the stratosphere was Lampard's shot when Heskey played him in beautifully (whilst getting fouled)?

By all means be mindless cretins and let the newspapers create your opinions for you, personally I'd rather make up my own mind and trust my own judgement.

Both Heskeys chances were easier than those examples. Dib't think i've read anything in a paper about Heskey in a very long time as well.

Looks like he's finally coming off soon anyway. For a player who deserves to be playing.

Eduardo should have had a penalty then.

France playing a really good second half. Would've scored if they didn't be 1 man down :p

Heskey has been an integral part of the best England team for years, he has done nothing to deserve to be dropped.

And what did Defoe do when come on? Fluff a 1 on 1 and do a lot of standing about. The phrase "goal hanger" comes to mind. You might not like Heskey but he closes down, he competes, he looks for the ball and to play in his teammates.

Defoe, the lazy goal hanging sod that he is, was even standing watching whilst Ashley Cole closed down the Croat goalkeeper for Rooney's goal.

and how many goals did roony/lampard score in that game?

Im not jumping the bandwagon and saying heskey is rubbish, i just dont see him as a starter for england, more of a sub towards the end/ET for instance.

that's what rooney is there for, and he does it a lot better than heskey.

What 1on1 did Defoe have? The game was winding down when he came on anyway.
