Rooney didn't dive, he looked as surprised as everyone when the decision was made. It was actually a foul by Rooney on the defender, both players ending up on their backsides and the next thing you know the ref's given a penalty

They should have had a penalty, however Pepe should have been sent off twice - he can't control his elbows and he's diving all over the pitch.

All the England players looked bemused. Gerrards pass was too high, there was no goal scoring chance. Rooney fouled the defender then slipped, the defender got injured. The ref blew the whistle.

his work rate is very good, and he's probably off to somewhere else within a year - I just don't think he got much out of his massive work yesterday
