I tend to play on the jolt multiplay and wireplay uk servers.

The wireplay ones tend to have more mature players who use voice comms more often than not (jolt servers hardly anyone uses voice coms).

I just played a map called cp_skyscraper (linkage)

After 5 mins I figured out, with some help, you get the needed height on a rocket jump by using "jump + crouch + fire" at the same time

can i bind this to a key?

Are you trying to be all high and mighty here brooky? You do know the rocket jump technique actually originated with the game Marathon? Which came out once upon a time on “that other gaming platform”, and predated Quake by 2 years.

If you wanna see some real rocketjumping goodness, grab Raptor's demo from the cevo semi finals (think gotfrag has it hosted). He's some sort of rocketjumping monster. I can just about make my way up skyscraper1 with some luck
