the gene for the Ginger pigmentation is a recessive Gene so if they have a recessive ginger and a Dominant Black for example their hair will be black.
You need two recessive genes to get Ginger hair.

My grandad on my dads side had ginger hair (therefore my dad was a carrier of it)
And my mum was a carrier for it also.

i had a 1 in 4 chance of getting it and i got Ginger hair so im quite lucky realy no matter what your personal bias against someone with a non FOTY hair colour
