the rest were prolly watching countdown..

i dont care what people say, if less people went to uni the country would be in a better state. more people would be learning jobs they'll actually be able to use later in life, like plumbing, electronics and all that stuff.

i kinda agree that making it more expensive to go to uni is a silly idea, because rich people are still bums (as i said above), i think they should increase the requirments for being accepted into a uni. as it stands people of any mental caliber can enter university purely for the doss.. which alot of them take advantage of. only people who are truley dedicated to what they're doing and truley interested should be allowed to study at university.

university shouldnt be the 'cool' thing to do, which unfortunatly it very much is at the moment. which is why we've got so many lazy bastards going to uni purely for the social aspects, and dropping out wasting tax payers money.

im not sure if raising the price is the way to do it, because rich people tend to be lazier than poor people, so it wont deter people going purely for a nice doss. i personally think the entry requirments should be up'd hugely, should need at least 3 a-levels all at A grade, and even then you should have to pass an entry exam to get in.

all these lazy shits in uni at the moment could be out there doing a valuable job toward society, rather than watching countdown and smoking weed. makes me sick.

Bring back poly's that's what I say...

I'm in two minds about the new fees. In principal I'm against them, but with the push to get more and more people into universities and the budgetry problems faced by most uni's something needs to be done. No matter what happens extra money is needed from somewhere and at the moment it's going to be my taxes paying for any increases. If they do bring in fees and also bring back a grant system for those less well off I'm all for it as long as they keep the idea that the fees will be payed off long term through an increase in the income tax contribution of graduates.

9-5? 9-5 would be a bloody luxury I'm working 8:30 -6 on a good day at the moment. + weekends and other assorted unpaid overtime......
But yeah it's a shock to the system, in my final year I was doing 8 or 10 hours a week lectures and spending the rest of the time in the bar or the gym or watching daytime telly.. I'm actually a lot happier working, less bored IMO.

I was going to argue with Random, but instead I've decided to translate this.

...I don't listen to what people say. I refuse to ackowledge the merits of anyone else's point of view. I will not reflect upon the impracticalities of any of my sugestions. Any suggestion that I should do any of these shall be greated by the timeless phrase "Wha?", because let's face it I'm just here to annoy you all, because that's what makes me feel good.

More people go to University to get better jobs. Because of this higher fees are needed to support them. However, this produces the fact that Univerity isn't as specialist as it used to be, meaning we are paying the fees for the hell of it? Paying the fees just to compete, to get a standard job? Mmmmmkay.

funny thing is, the majority of people leaving uni are going into dead end jobs that pay less than someone like me that left school at 18 and didnt bother with uni. ok it might be fun while they're there, but comming out into a job worse than mine and earning peanuts, aswell as having 10k debt over they're heads is just plain funny.

What about the people that go into careers where they can earn 3k on a good day?

lol i'd like to see them try. you'd never step into a job that pays 3k a day lol. you might if you work your way up over a few years, but then again the same can be said for someone that never went to uni. but for the majority of students they'll be going to work at tesco's

I thought so too at first, but he is either really set on playing this idiot role or he is genuine.

I wondered the same thing about Repent. I'm still not sure to this day whether he actually was stupid or was putting it on. Hard to tell. Best to just not get involved and not let them 'drag you down to their level and beat you with experience' as it were.
