Strange "thing"

From time to time, I´m suffering from a strange perception disorder. It starts with a bright "point" somewhere in my field of vision on both eyes. After a couple of minutes, the point starts to expand to a small line and keeps growing to a circle right around my focus. Looks a bit as if you´re looking at a crack in a window, where the lights are randomly reflecting. Then, it just fades away. Takes about 30 minutes until it´s gone.
After some heavy googling, I found out that this is called "eye migraine" and it´s a symptom of stress, but otherwise not dangeorus.

Nevertheless... a scary experience. o_O

You have a glitch in your camera circuits, you should return to base and have the ocular systems reset.

Seriously though?

Do not trust google, get your peepers checked as soon as it's convinient. It could very well be a beginning symptom of a serious later year problem, that can be avoided by early check ups.

I had it checked a few times, but everyone I went to just said *shrug*. The fun thing is, that it took me so long to even find a name for it (as well as some evidence, that I´m not the only one who has it. :))

I get one in my right eye sometimes when I am stressed or tired. I can actually feel it coming on, a slightly tight feeling in my eye. I only notice the light when its dark though.

When mine started I read all sorts of horror stories of detached retinas and whatnot so I went to the opticians and the doctors but they couldn't find anything.

I usually have to rest my eyes or something when it happens, my cue to go and do the washing up, take the bins out or whatever. Not that it causes any pain, its just annoying.

Usually lose peripheral vision as well.

Sounds exactly like Migraines. I've had some experience of them myself and know others that have also suffered these from time to time. Although the exact visual descriptions vary they all seem to be variations on the same thing.

I hope your migraines pass soon.

I sometimes see these little worm like things they are silver and black and wriggle all over my field of view. Had that for years though, optician told me to mention it if I get headaches when it happens.

I like watching the lil "bacteria" in my eyes, especially easy when watching a clear blue sky, but you can manage focusing on them even elsewhere :p

Basically lil shiny things going every which way.
