They're all cogs in a big mechanism. He had the chat, the charisma, the ability to take any object and make people bow down and worship it. He was a technological Jesus Christ that made his followers feel special, rewarded and part of the cult.

The only other person I can think of that can come close (one day...) is Zuckerberg.

Btw, too soon to talk about limited edition Apple products in memory of Steve?

Well it's only a matter of time before Apple turn it into a marketing opportunity isn't it.

Sigh, today someone else died from cancer. My Mum died from cancer just over 4 years ago. RIP Steve and condolences to his family. I feel for you.

Now for the rant, fuck me, it was and still is the peons below him that created all the toys you currently play with, be it an iPad, iPhone, iPod etc. They deserve the credit for innovation, Steve deserves the credit for being a Hitler figure in a massive company. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is a Brit that designs all the Apple products, not Steve Jobs. Just remember that. He was a great CEO but "he" didn't change the world, his staff did.

As DBs said, even then I'm somewhat bored of all the Jobs fapping I've seen today and even more so when somewhere referenced Einstein.

I'm hearing rumours that he isn't actually dead. The nurses were just holding him wrong.

Too soon?

They'll probably make it inferior to every other memorial type thing, a signed photo of him with the wrong signature and photo.

Give the man (and company) some credit where it's due. He's managed to turn the company around from something which was almost close to collapse, into something which is consistently releasing desirable products which millions of people love.

I'm sure most people will criticise the products, but they've managed to take existing products, giving them the Apple touch and do something that the competitors have been unable to do. They didn't invent the MP3 player, but they released a product which people wanted. They didn't invent the smartphone, but they released something easy to use when existing companies like Nokia couldn't. They didn't invent the tablet, but after many years of Microsoft desperately trying to do it - they just walked in and launched something which works well and people want.

Love Apple or hate it, Steve Jobs has been an influential figure to the computing industry for years.

If nothing else, the man had a perfect name to be one of those evil future corporation bosses for 2020.

One less evil techdator possibility :(

My pre-iPhone SE's were perfectly easy to use. The only difference is however, I am not a fuckwit, and don;t get confused with complicated things such as buttons or menus.

I'll give the Company credit. The Apple turnaround was not just Steve Jobs but all the engineers below him.

I admire the guy for beating back the geeks and making technology useable, without his influence Microsoft would be a leader in smartphones and just look at their first efforts, they were just fruckin useless, great technology, but the implementation was derisory to the end consumer, my imate Jam would lose it's memory when the battery went flat..a fault you say?
No they all did it, it was a design feature, adjusting any parameter took you across 10 software sections, all no doubt designed by different geek cliques and all put together by the sort of super geek who thinks it's a good idea to hide a tick box 12 folders down that causes the phone to ignore all above it.

He simply took those early MS smartphones and made them into a real product.

Remember that Apple was founded in Steve Jobs own garage, where the first macintosh prototype was built by him and his friend(also named Steve).

So without Steve Jobs, Apple would most likely not have been founded.

Indeed, the same can be said of the other co-founder.

My mum battled cancer for 10 years before dying.

Who would you rather go for a pint with?

Ballmer Laughs at iPhone - YouTube

I hope that when I have kids one day, they choose to have Steve Jobs as their hero and not some potato faced knuckle dragger like Wayne Rooney.

Wasn't the Mac. It was the Apple 1. Also there were 3 co-founders :)
