Recast is so usual that it would probably take 2-3 episodes(with proper casting) to get used to the new spartacus.

Shame and it would be best if the guy pulled a miraclerecovery out of his arse, but will see i guess.

I would worry more about whether or not they can make a workable plot for the next series. Not that I don't like Andy, I feel really sorry for the bloke and thought he was great in the first series, but the show can survive without him.

It's basically just started and the writers atleast should have time to hone things.

Aye there is plenty, PLENTY of stuff to draw from history regarding Spartacus and the whole Servile War. Throughout it, the Romans kept backstabbing eachother and fighting for the honour to be the one to crack the slave army.

Only question I got is how they'd work with showing a moving army, with all the locations and people it would need for the set. In the first season, they worked with quite a few number of sets because they didn't need more for the brilliant plot.

The worst episode of season 1 were imo the first where they tried to show the Roman army on the move in Thrace and it just didn't click well with me at least. Hopefully they can pull it off better with the roaming slave army.

300 managed it with CGI and 50 hairy arsed blokes. It can be done and the next season will definately have a bigger budget as they have sold the show globally.

In many ways I think he is better, have seen nothing good from Sam Worthington so far. Now Sam Witwer I do like, not sure he has the build to play Spartacus though.
