Yeah episode 9 was very good, and I really did not see that ending coming. Huge amount of backstabbing and bitchiness.

Episode 10 was very good
Varo was always going to die, Spartacus is slowly being stripped of his humanity. Loving all the backstabbing.

Yeah end of season was class, episodes 10, 11 and 12 were very very good. Feel sorry for those that wrote this off as just tits and blood after the first two episodes.

Hope he makes a full recovery and season 2 comes soon!

Got round to watching this after being recommended it. I would say:

1) It does look too much like 300 to begin with, but then how else are you going to get a US audience who have gnat-like concentration spans to get into anything?

2) Glad it doesn't try to stick to too much historical fact, it would have nerfed it

3) The character Crixus becomes more real and you can empathise more as the series progresses (tough luck if you think that's a spoiler)

4) John Hannah carries a lot on his shoulders here (and lol Jup, my wife said the same thing - "isn't that the bloke from the Mummy?")

5) I hate heights, I'd be the fooking gladiator sparring near the gate in that Ludus :p

Just got round to watching this after all the ads on Bravo, its pure class.

Thought first two episodes were as shit as everyone else, you really do get the feeling its a sex & violence thing with fuck all substance but the plot turns out to be a lot smarter than most other programmes out there.

Can't wait for the next season but from the sounds of it, that may be a while.

6 episode prequel later in the year it seems followed by a full season from next spring if he makes a quick recovery.

NEWS! GOOD NEWS! :D

EZTV - TV Torrents Online

Spartacus star Andy Whitfield has been given a clean bill of health and is already training for his return to the set of the Starz drama series. “I’m raring to go,” Whitfiled said in a phone interview from New Zealand. Fans will be able to meet the actor at next month's Comic Con where Whitfield will make an appearance along with other actors and producers from Starz's breakout series Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Welsh-born Whitfield was diagnosed with treatable Stage 1 non-Hodgkin lymphoma in early March during a routine checkup just as the show was about to start shooting Season 2. He began treatment immediately while production was put on hold. About five weeks ago, tests revealed that Whitfield was clear of cancer and three weeks ago, he completed his treatment. Whitfield, who thanked Starz executives for sticking with him and supporting him through his ordeal, has already started his own training for what is a very physically demanding role and will start vigorous boot camp training at the end of July.

While Whitfield was undergoing treatment, Starz announced a six-episode Spartacus prequel focused on two other characters from the series, played by Lucy Lawless and John Hannah. Whitfield will appear in two of the episodes and is expected to get in front of the camera sometime in October, giving him plenty of time to get in shape. (He notes that for the first season, he only had a month to prepare.) Upon wrapping the prequel, the cast and crew are expected to segue directly into filming Season 2 of the original series.

Whitfield shaved his head after starting to lose his hair during chemo but it is already growing back and he will have his trademark Spartacus hairdo shortly.

For 35-year-old Whitfield, the news of his cancer diagnosis came out of the blue just as the first season of Spartacus was breaking ratings records for Starz week after week and production on Season 2 was about to begin.

“After the initial shock – I was a healthy young man and had no idea that this could happen -- it was frustrating that the first season was ending on such a high note and we could’ve been rolling into season 2." But after that initial shock came “time to heal, figure things out and spend time with my family,” he said. And the experience has thought him some important lessons, like: “Stay in the now and enjoy every moment.”

Starz, the people that brought us Wow Wow Wubbzy!

Isn't it amazing the variety of programmes they produce? :)
Squeaky clean kids shows to rampant full on OMG blood, sweat, gore and tits.

Sounds like the BBC. They have twee things like Waybaloo and nasty things like Luther. Not so much tits but plenty of gore.

Fuuuuuuuuuuck, I've only just realised after watching episode 13 on Bravo, that I missed it first time round. LOL!

Thought it was only 12 episodes!

Fucking hell, lots of deaths.

Yes and no, tbh I preferred the cliff hanger at the end of 12 as an ending. I'm sad at the deaths as well.

Loved the whole series, and glad I was able to just watch the first couple of episodes as a break in to the series. The characters all added depth to the show by the end and I truly was gutted at some of the deceased even though they were seen as the bad guys.
