SotL - Who they really are?

So, your recommendation to SotL wannabees is to stay guildless till they're post L40/45 and then apply? Kinda rough that one. And how does he know that by the time he gets to that level, you won't need any of his class? Do you blackmail people who are alraedy in a guild? ;) Do you list what classes you'll be accepting applications from?

Ok, a question for the rest of the audience. ;)

What if I had a character that was closing on his 40's, but had maybe grouped with pure guild members on one occassion (for XP, not raid). Would it be wrong for him to leave and apply to SotL? Should he give back everything he had received from his original guild? Should compensation be payed to the guild in the form of items/cash? What are the general Albion feelings on this?

I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay guildless; I did, but then I basically PLed and didn't have time for GC chat :) I doubt anyone is so desperate to join SotL that their entire World falls apart if they're denied a trial - unless you know people in the guild who advocate your cause, this would be a rather silly path :) If you're new to the game, there's no reason as to why you'd want to join SotL; other guilds are, as previously stated, better suited for this.

I'll refrain from commenting your thoughts on "transfer deals" ;)

The decision for any player of any level to leave his (or her, I'll use his for sake of ease) guild is purely their own to make. Most guilds I know would run trial periods, and any player leaving an existing guild to join another would need to make that decision based on the knowledge that there is a good chance they will not be allowed to return to their old guild should they not be allowed permanent status within the new guild following the trial.

If a guild offers items out to their members, then it is their responsibility to manage expectations in terms of their own policy should the player leave. Ultimately, if a pleyer does not wish to give items back then noone can force them to do so, but clearly this is going to lead to a bad reputation for said player anyway, and would be in noone's interests.

Of course, if a player has received alot of help from one guild to reach 40+ only to then leave and join another guild (any guild, not just SotL) then naturally there is a danger of ill-feeling between the players in that guild and the individual.

That said, however, there are many occasions where players simply will not get along with their guild, or will fall out with individuals in a guild, and look to join another. PL have added several higher level players through this kind of scenario, or old guilds dissolving, but we are not about to start offering out compensation, I can assure you ;)

That's my views in general, which naturally I would apply to SotL just like any other guild. Seems to me they are doing things right if they have players wishing to join, so I'm not about to start criticising that :)

Or it could just be that us frequent posters (read me ^^) find the idea of transfer sums rather silly :)

Tell me his words he said to you and then if nxs has any sence he would reply to your comment - when and if it came to real life friends saying things behind my back becomes not a game anymore - and thats when i take things serious (i dont take games serious cuse its a fecking game nothin more)

and another thing i DID not delete my level 50 cuse of not being accepted lol thats like you saying you would delete a level 50 cuse i couldent get into griffon knights your guild dont make that big an imprishion your guild is the same as all the others just you have a few more members. i did it mainly cuse nxs deleted his we were both fed up at the time with members within the game we both needed a break and where takeing things within the game to serious and at that stage (is the point i call it quits)

Well, no one should never ever start playing just to get into SotL. Its really a stupid idea if you ask me.
We dont list what we need. Gideon doesnt update the Members section in the site enough for it to be accurate. Asking is the best way.

Hmm... sounds like LoE...*cough*... And the recently left person Aevar... Perfect example.
Well, if you exp only, the items he probably had were very common and not that good items. So I wouldnt whine after if someone left with Pygmy Chain on his back. And basically, being in a guild is not 1 wayed. You give and you get. Thats the whole deal. Some people might get more than others, some might give more than others. But thats the way it works.
Would be a totally different thing if a group of L50s eg powerlevel a player in guild for 40+ levels and then he leaves, thats just stupid again.

FYI, Aevar left over a misunderstanding in the guild and he is now a member of LoE once again.

The terms have changed, LB loot isn't worth enough, we want coin, hard coin, and lots of it!
Under the church is fine if you prefer that though. ;)
